Hello everyone!
Well I have been raw for 3 months and I have seen major improvements in my skin. I still have a lot of acne though, but thankfully is not cystic. I am keeping a log of what foods I consume everyday to see if what I eliminate is helping me or not.
Can anyone share what worked for you? what didn't?
Also has anyone done a colonics and had their skin improve?
I don't really like going out with my friend because of my acne and even though some of my friends have it worse than me I still feel ugly :(
An overview of my diet:
breakfast: sometimes fresh fruit and I try to eat one kind and not mix, I just like it that way anyway.
lunch: green smoothie with 2 fruits like apple and strawberries or blueberries and then a lot of kale and/or spinach. I love adding my sprouts in there because I don't like them with my salads. Also I add cinnamon, seaweed, and thats about it. I never add any sweeteners, only fresh fruit.
dinner: usually a salad or green juice, or sometimes nothing at all because im not hungry
Avocados I don't eat much, maybe once a week or so. I used to eat a lot of nuts and seeds, now im trying to limit to a handful or so a day or every other day.
Thanks in advance :)

Update:
I just did a mud mask and it made my skin smooth.
I'm also doing oil pulling and before I go to bed I put coconut oil on my face.
I'll see if it works. :)

I still feel ugly
And that, my beautiful friend, is why you "suffer from acne"...
*gentle smile*
Dislike of the self is one of the mental processes that cause our Bodies to manifest acne. Today try saying this to yourself instead of "I'm ugly":
I love and accept myself where I am right now.

That's so wonderful!!! I'm also finding much improvement in my own skin, inside out, the longer I say all-Raw....!!!

P.S. Also, read this thread (http://rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=58302) started recently on RFT about raw skin care. :) Combine methods - natural healing with an internal thought-revolution - for speedy results. ;)

You're absolutely right!
Some weeks I am excited that I am seeing results and then another week I breakout horribly and it seems as though I'm back to the start. I'm being more patient with myself, I know that everything takes time and if I keep thinking about this the more it will affect me.
Thank you so much for your response! :)

louise hay- Wow! my heart flutters when I hear such words of beauty passed between people.
I had skin that broke out a lot when I was younger, then I did a master cleanse and my skin changed. it was calmer, significantly different for the better. I attribute this to the amount of lemon juice I consumed everyday for 10 days since lemon is detoxifies the liver.
so maybe...master cleanse or consuming ALOT of lemon juice?

The food log is a great idea and should help you identify any foods that trigger acne for you. Personally, coconut meat and coconut oil makes me break out -- and so do nuts, to a lesser extent.
Are you (or have you ever been) on birth control pills or other hormone treatments? I so, the acne could be hormonally triggered and it might take a while for your body to recalibrate. Three months might not be long enough to see the full extent of the improvement, so keep doing what you're doing and your skin will probably continue to clear up with time. :)

Thank you both for your responses :)
I was thinking about doing the master cleanse but I think I'm not ready yet, so I will see how I feel about it in a few months.
Regarding birth control, no I have never taken any of that or other hormonal treatment.
I think nuts have something to do with it because I stopped eating for a week or two and it was starting to clear up. Then I made myself a cake for my birthday and a few days later I broke out worse.
I had pretty bad acne growing up too and it affected my confidence a lot. I always hated it so much. I tried various things, a few antibiotics and what worked for me was Roaccutance.
There can be some serious side effects from it but it worked fine for me. I think I had to do a second treatment too as it recurred. I'm not suggesting you go down this route but maybe talk to a dermatologist although be aware that I was never even asked about my diet back then. Crazy or what. I just wouldn't close the door on conventional medicine if you feel you have given other approaches a fair shout but don't trust anybody! Make your own decisions based on what knowledge you come across.
The slightly interesting point is that my brother had bad acne too and went on the same treatment. His skin became absolutely perfect but now a couple of years later and it is recurring. I have been off it for longer than him now and we live vastly different lifestyles. He lives a stressed out crazy life and eats crap food. Chocklate , cakes , you name it! I am on a raw food diet and also have a home sauna and my skin is still perfect. I don't know how much my lifestyle is helping to keep it at bay but common sense sayes a lot. The home sauna I have is the best thing I've ever bought.I'm not recommending you buy one or anything but they must surely help the skin a lot. Its a proper one with the coals etc not the infrared one .. You should maybe try using one at a gym for some time to see if its brings about any improvement.
heres a natural healing oil product too. I haven't used this but have used other oils from this company and found them to work very well.

FRESH CARROT JUICE!! Three 8oz glasses a day. Cleans the toxins right outta ya!!
Skin eruptions are usually caused by toxins in the body trying to get out.
