I've been fasting since January, and I have tons of stretch marks and saggy skin. I'm wondering if going raw/fasting will help to get rid of the stretch marks. Minimize them? What about sagginess? Cellulite?
Thanx. :)

i often have taken MSM while fasting to assist with the elasticity of my skin, but of course you also get that from foods which are grown in the sun and irrigated by the rain...
skin brushing also helps...
coconut oil is good...

maybe its my skin tone improving, but i feel like i see some improvement in cellulite even after a week on juice. i think drinking lemon and grapefruit juices are supposed to help with that somehow, or maybe that's something i saw on line at the grocery store.
i haven't used it, but msm lotion exists and is supposed to be helpful with stretch marks.
there are some juices that are supposed to contribute to your skin's elasticity. i think silicon is what you want, so cucumber juice would be one. there are probably others. :)

Saggy Skin and Stretch marks... two things so many of us worry about as we begin to lose those excess pounds -- especially if we've been carrying the weight for a while.
My experience (so far) has been that being consistant with this LIFEstyle... consuming vibrant LIVE foods has been the key for me. Over the last 3 years, I have seen (for instance my tummy roll, which turned into excess hanging skin -- aaaaccckkkk! so not purdy!) ... over time began to shrink. It is still shrinking and I do believe that it will completely disappear over time. Or at least not have to be 'tucked' into my pants -- lol!! ;) There is a MEASURABLE difference though.... but it certainly didn't happen overnight.
my stretch marks have not necessarily disappeared - but they've shrunk - so they are not as noticeable, also the 'discoloration' of those stretch marks is changing and it's like the skin tone is returning to those areas.
I haven't used any creams or lotions... just the raw foods, lots of water, juices and my yearly fasts (I do 4 a year minimum)...
I do use shea butter and coconut oil as moisturizer, that could be helping - I'm not sure - it's what I've always used.

I got plenty of dark purple stretch marks when going through puberty, and it took a few years, but applying cocoa butter routinely (I used the Palmers brand) completely erased them. Unfortunately I don't know how raw affects them (although it can't be bad).

I dont believe that stretch makrs disappear completly since they are scars (i tattooed over mine:p) but before that, i used a cream called trilastin thats lightened my stretchmarks sooooooo much (dont know if you are up for using creams)
(not tooooo tooo sure about the rest of the questions):p:confused:

Generally, if you lose weight too fast, it's pretty inevitable that you'll get stretch marks or loose skin. The best way to remedy it to some degree is to get plenty of exercise, use plenty of lotion (firming preferably) and hope for the best. Just remember that you're beautiful regardless of any "flaws" you may think you have. You're living a healthier lifestyle and that's all that matters. :)

Personally, my stretch marks greatly reduced in appearance once I was steadily into raw. They were still there, but much fainter and less visible.
So far as cellulite, it was pretty much gone when I was 100%.. I'd say it took about two months. I ate a lot of fruits and greens, personally.
Now I'm not 100% anymore (getting back on the bandwagon, though) and cellulite has come back a bit. Oops! :o
Good luck. I definitely think raw will help you :)

Aleesha had posted someplace else about dehydration & increase water. Sagging skin under chin can be a sign of this.
Well...she was right!!! surprise. I love the knowledge these people have and share. I was getting that chin flap since winter started and loathed it. Our house is dry in the winter. I bought an inexpensive dehydrator, increased my water & use more coconut oil or some oil in pm. Wow!! those lines disappeared. Now, I check it daily. Honestly, when I don't keep up on liquid intake..those sneaky little lines appear. I run get a huge glass of water. Our bodies do show us signs to let us know they need something.
THanks Aleesha for such a simple yet important tip.

you are so welcome!
and in response to some other members posts: my stretch marks are very light as well. you get saggy skin from releasing weight on a SAD diet... but not on a raw diet or by fasting on raw live juices. at least... that's been my experience and many other people's as well.

My sisters doctor gave her a great piece of advice one time......"Stretch marks are just womens beauty marks. It shows what women have been through and that they are strong, beautiful creatures able to endure life. So instead of looking at them as battle wounds, view them as beauty." This came from a male doctor in his 30's. How inspiring!

Whoa,so glad I stopped by an read this,I am having the turkey neck thing going on,and my underarms are starting to look like a burn victim.......Ewwww!!! My neck looks like its wrinkly, have been skin brushing & using Shea butter.I have to say though at same time,my legs are smoothing out, love that....
Ya know that does make sense about the water"slapping self in head".I am horrible at getting enough water in.I drink a litter a day and that's it,have went whole days and forgot to drink anything.I know that's so bad!! Thanks for this reminder,I'm goingg to make a huge effort to work on drinking more, also I read b4 where Aleesha had suggested MSM powder, how much do you use a day?
Would running a humidifier during sleep, aid in re-hydrating the skin too ya think?

derma rolling and skin needling will take care of those... I have done this for friends with huge keloids, as well as wrinkles on my uncle's head (in preparation for his 40th high school reunion) and it's a MIRACLE worker. FYI- the cheaper ones on Amazon work JUST as well as the expensive ones.

Using lactic acid peel like makeupartistchoice.com lactic 40% once a week can fade dark stretch marks over time.
I heard that using a face cream with retinol can do the same as well.

Stretch Marks:
Sunlight
Like other scars they will become less visible the more sunlight that area gets.
