I was surprised to see that even the expensive Vitamix has a plastic container. My current Kitchenaid has a glass container, but I want something that blends much more thoroughly and is more powerful.

Do any of the powerful blenders have glass containers?

No, not really. Actually, the Vita-Mix polycarbonate ones are stronger and more durable than glass.

And a lot lighter! I like glass better than plastic, but in this case I think plastic wins hands down. The glass containers look prettier though.

Yup. I've dropped it more than once to prove the point, too. *LOL*

Hello! I'm in the same situation, I don't know what to do! I couldn't find any glass container for the blendtec or the vitamix, actually they said that they do not use glass because it can be dangerous becouse of the speed and the power.

I was looking in internet and the best glass blender i found is the Oster, but I don't know if it's powerfull enough to make a smoothy paste of seeds (like sesame to make tahini) and nuts like the vitamix and the blendtec. Do you know another brands? Finally which blender did you get?

Thanks and I'm sorry for my english (I'm spanish...)

best alternative to me is a stainless steel pitcher . theres some high powered blenders you can buy with them

I think the old vitamix used to have stainless steel. I wouldn't worry about the plastic container of the newer vitamix and blendtec as they are both free from BPA. We currently have a black and decker cheapie blender that has a glass container and it's probably a little more powerful than your average blender but it won't do near the things a vitamix would do. And I have no idea if they still have glass ones. This one was given to us so it may be old too.
