Ok, I thought after I read what I wasn't suppose to have raw with a thyroid condition, that I couldn't eat raw. It was too limiting. However. I find that I gravitate towards raw without even trying. It's second nature for me now and I so much prefer raw foods, flavors and the feeling I get from eating them.

Anyone here have thyroid issues and eat raw? How do you get around not eating strawberries, pears, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower and such? Do you still have them and you are ok?

I have thyroid issues and eat all of the above. I didn't know we "weren't supposed to".

I was hyper, had my thyroid killed (twice, with RAI) am now hypo and take Armour Thyroid. I've been eating this way for 1 1/2 - 2 years or so. *Ü*

I have been 90% for the last 8 mth, and I got more energy, and hypo symptoms diminises. I still eat strawberries, pears, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, but cauliflower and broccoli in smal amounts. I think it is important to get sufficient iodine, as the iodine uptake may be less when eating the from the cale famely.
What I have noticed, is that my body is giving me strong signals not to eat broccoli and caulifl, and I choose to listen

Thank you for your responses. I'm definitely heading back to my raw foods life tomorrow. I finished this evening with a green smoothie in prep for the change. :p I know that normally, I would binge on all the SAD foods I would no longer be able to have...as though it would be torture eating raw. So many foods to give up. But this time...not happening! :D I'm thrilled and overjoyed at the new way I GET to eat. I'm choosing to eat luscious ripe fruits and vibrant greens...juice melons and a host of other yummy raw goodies. I was just on Ebay looking for a dehydrator. ;) It's going to be life around here for me again. Thyroid condition or no. At least my body will have a lot better chance of thriving eating live foods.
