I have been 100% raw for 1 1/2 years now and for the last 3 months the weight has stopped coming off. Infact over the last few weeks I've put on weight and my diet hasn't changed. I feel exhausted, unmotivated and fat- no I'm not pregnant so what's going on? Anyone had this before how can I feel alive again?

In fact over the last few weeks I've put on weight and my diet hasn't changed.

That could be your answer. For me, not enough information to respond.

I was just reading the first page of Chapter 12 in Alissa's book when she addresses hitting a weight loss plateau or not losing at the rate that you'd like. She suggests adding a few extra meals to your day. To quote her, "I don't necessarily mean a huge serving of a prepared raw food entree. It could just be a piece of fruit or a vegetable or a serving of a lighter meal prepared with mostly fruits and vegetables and LESS nuts and oils."

Given that all else in your diet really is the same, I'd suggest this. (or maybe your diet has stayed the same and you are less active?) I learned just what Alissa was saying on this page when I began working out and "eating better" years ago. Eating smaller meals, but more frequently across the span of a day kept my metabolism running on high and burning calories even when I wasn't working out. That basic premise holds true for cooked or raw food it appears.

When I feel poorly, I look at my diet, my environment, and my quality of sleep. I also look at whether I'm getting enough exercise and whether I'm taking enough ME-time in the day.

Lately, I've been feeling poorly and exhausted, too -- but it's not the Raw part of life that's getting me down. It's the pace of my life and lack of sleep!

Look at the WHOLE picture.... and don't be afraid to consider changing up your diet within the raw/living foods context! I agree with Revvell on that...!!!

I can totally identify with that on every point you make. I was going to say it is because I'm dealing with Winter here, but I know it is something deeper than that. Besides, how could the Winter theory work for you? Aren't you in the middle of summer right now? :)

I'm thinking in my case it is a new, deeper level of detox. My nagging intuition is telling me to take advantage of it with an extended juice/smoothie fast including lots of greens and green food powders, get regular activity, and establish a more consistent sleep pattern.

Our weather has been crazy, we are in our summer but yesterday it was so cold we had a fire and today it's so hot. It's been like that for weeks I did wonder if that was having an effect on me. I'm thinking after reading everyones comments that perhaps I do need to change my eating a little bit, cut something out and replace it with something else to to shake things up a bit. I do LOVE all nuts but perhaps I may just cut them out and see what happens.
I will have another read of Alissa's book to find that page.

I do LOVE all nuts ....

Are you soaking them before eating? I had similar issues when I ate raw, un-soaked almonds. You may have an allergy or sensitivity to them.

I appreciate what you guys are saying about sleep and deeper detox happening. I agree with that totally. Follow your intuition on that one ;)
