Hi all
Just wondered if anyone else has had any problems with a kitchen aid food processor. I've had numerous issues with mine.
First the blade broke while making banana ice cream, then i had an issue with the container collecting crude and not rinsing out. Both times customer service was great and they send me out new parts. Now the 3rd time, the blade gets stuck to the motor and has to be literally pried off. I was in the middle of teaching a class and this happend 2x - so annoying - had to stop the class to call my h - didn't even have the strength to take it off.
Anyone else every encounter this?

My blade got stuck to the motor shaft the first time I used it. I thought it was my fault so never followed thru on it. I was making apple bars and everything was soft so I have no idea why. It was my firsttime using a FP.
Now I just pry it off when it gets stuck.

Love my KA - have had it just over a year. Never had anything break, but I will second the crud that cannot be reached to wash out in the enclosed handle area.
The reason I will buy a Cueez the next time is I saw a raw food demo and the chef jury rigged it with a flat knife so that you could run it with the lid off and add ingredients on the fly - I liked that....

I have loved my Kitchen Aid for years. I had to get a new blade cause I used it on really hard dates. Learned my lesson. Then I replaced the bowl because I was sick of the moldy crud in the handle. I swore I would make sure water never got in there when I was washing it. Sure enough..stuff gets in there. I am not going to replace the bowl again because a plastic piece broke off at the base that helps it lock into place. There is another one so it locks ..for now..until that one breaks off.
It's just time to move on to bigger and better. I scored a Cuisinart on Craigslist. Used only once. It's a beauty. They really do know how to make food processors. It's a big one so I still do like using my Kitchen Aid to make small batches of stuff ..or sometimes I have them both going when I don't want to stop and rinse a bowl.
Anyways, it's a constant battle with our appliances. I am still pretty amazed at the beatings they can take from me. I sometimes take pictures of them with the food..hehe
Here is my Kitchen Aid making Raw Burgers. And my Blendtec making Pumpkin Pie...

I have had my kitchen aid for about 15 years and have had no problems. When the blade gets a little dull I just resharpen it.
Take care, Paul.

Thanks all for the info - I use mine almost daily and teach alot of classes as well. Sticking seems to happen mostly thick sticky stuff like dates. But the blade broke using frozen nanas. All that and the ugly food accumulation in the handle............think i'm going for the Cuisinart next time.
