I have been making this nearly everday since the really good tomatoes are ripe. This looks like a lot of ingredients, but after you do it once, then in 5 minutes you have soup. This makes one large bowl for one.

Tomato Soup

In a blender:

1 large tomato cut in chunks
1 cup water
some olive oil (maybe 1/4 cup?)
Blend this up.

Add
1 stalk celery cut in chunks
1 carrot cut in chunks
one quarter or more of a red bell pepper
1 clove garlic with peel
4 fresh basil leaves
Fresh dill
1/2 jalopeno pepper (do in 1/4 and taste for your desired hot!)
1 heaping Tbl of honey (or agave, or dates)
several pinches of sea salt
cumin to taste
dash of cayenne pepper

If it is too thick for you, add some water.

Cut up some red bell pepper in small chunks. Add this to your soup. This added crunch is divine!

This is SO GOOD.

Thanks for sharing, this sounds wonderful! I have a garden full of tomatoes and I am eating them as fast as I can so I will try this!

This sounds yummy, tames, but, tell me: Do you blend after the "Add" ingredients? It seems logical, but you didn't specify.

Also, if the syrup/sweetener is left out will it be harsh? I really don't like to add sweeteners to foods.

May I ask why leave the peel on the garlic? The recipe sounds good.
