View Full Version : I feel like an "Other" 'round here!

For those who don't get the "Lost" reference: I have to admit that I feel like a complete outsider here. I'm a big meat eater, and until about 3 days ago, the full extent of my "raw food" experience has largely been the shredded lettuce that comes in a Big MacŪ.

... OK, so that's may be an exaggeration, but not THAT far off.

So what happened 3 days ago? My Omega 8006 arrived. While waiting for it's delivery, I started researching online juicing recipes and different things I need to know about juicing. Over and over again, my searches led to your forum pages, so here I am! You guys are awesome!

First thing first... and excuse my familiarity, but PLEASE tell me that this whole digestion issue (completely loose bowel movement and gas) passes after your body adjusts to juice meals. It's rather unpleasant, and I foresee my wife leaving me if this doesn't change, future-trim-and-sexy me notwithstanding.

That aside, I'm totally hooked on this juicing thing! I don't get nappy during the day, and I see whole foods in a whole new light now!

So thank you anyone for tips and advice on the digestion issues! Looking forward to seeing y'all around!

-John

Don't worry about feeling like an Other, Juliet. It won't take long for you to settle in and become one of "us" :P

Yeah, I pretty much only replied to acknowledge the Lost reference. As I type this I literally JUST finished watching the two hour season return on Sky :D

Give yourself the benefit of 30 days raw as a "test drive" and I'm sure you will stay with us on the raw path to health & wellness. Here's a link to the RFT 30 day raw challenge for daily support to stay raw for the month. http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=58150 As mentioned above you should adjust OK and get more "regular" with time but if you still have gas problems after awhile then you could look into food combining to assist in good digestion. Happy trails :)

I am sure we all know how it feels to be the outcast. Anyone who has gone out to eat with friends will tell you that. I feel more like and outcast outside of the forums. But it's fun anyways..because people are so fascinated by this lifestyle. And I have never been happier. So, welcome and I hope you try this out for awhile and see how awesome it can be.
