Now I know what I need, one that works as a processor/juicer/blender in one, & is heavy duty, such as the Vita-Mix.
Which one do I chose? (Yes, of course I will be the best decision maker for self in the end) & yes I looked it up in your search engine.
-Vita-Prep Pro 3 hp model?
-5200?
-1343 Prof Mix Platinum?
-1364 Vita Mix Series Oynx?
-Vita - Prep 1002?
-I could go on...
Does it really matter?
*currently searching Youtube for comparisons..*

Just stick with a simple 5200 such as this one (sent the free shipping link):

Comes with the new, better BPA-free container and has a variable switch which is very important.

I had the same exact question this spring! And went with the 5200(like Dimond said) and have been loving everyday of it!!!! I did end up getting the deluxe package where you get all three containers and I'm glad I did - I like having the dry one for grinding wheat and I am surprised at how much I use the little canister as well - totally a luxury though - not a necessity! the basic package with the container is definitely good enough!

The one container really should be enough to do everything.

WOO HOO! I am just excited to share, that I'm picking up a Vita Mix 5200 Tomorrow from the Costco Roadshow!!! Woot!!
But is the Dry Carafe just another Carafe? Is it just so you don't have to clean the wet one b4 using it for dry grains & what not? (say if you're preparing a meal that needs both wet & dry?) & it's just a marketing ploy that they do to get you to pay more? OR??
Edit: on their site, it says *Best Suited* gotcha
Such as you mentioned ginadj, it's just kinda nice to have an extra one..

Make sure they give you a good price at the show-comparable to the website. I got mine years ago at a show (before raw) and they ended up shipping it anyhow. The demos are fun to watch. :)

Goody! I am STOKED!! (srs) I will be able to start my first 30 day Raw Challenge soon!! I am clean out of food too, ready to go! :)
It would be pretty awesome if they had a Factory Reconditioned one. It is a $49.00 difference from the other very basic one available. I am hoping Costco has it cheaper. :)
