Hey, for everyone who uses spirulina, do you think it's a bad idea to take it in the tablet form as opposed to the powder? I HATE the taste of the powder and want to use the tablets but I am wondering if it's in tablet form, is it ruined somehow? Thanks:D

There's Nothing wrong with taking Tablets.

I love the taste of spirulina. I crushed my tablets down with a mortar and pestle and added it to meals. It was real delicious in a green smoothie, spinach banana and a few tablets of spirulina... I'm fiendin'.

I use the tablets and it never dawned on me that they may be inferior. I assume that they are just pressed.

i too find spirulina repulsive - i don't even like some of the pills! i take earthwise - they're good. well, not bad :D

I bought the powder once and had to give it away. This is because of the fishy taste. I have been veg for nearly 40 years and can not eat anything that tastes fishy.

Hi, I love the taste in green smoothies, not so much over food though... check out this site, there are some good alternatives to taking spirulina (it also says that tablets are fine), and get this... they're coming out with a spirulina "candy"!!! that should be interesting!!

Tablets are fine. They should be the kind that are pressed without any additives.

"Ultimate Superfoods" makes tabs without any additives. They have spirulina, chlorella, or a combo of both. The tabs can be swallowed or blended in a smoothie. I bought a bag of 400 tabs when the store (http://www.rawvegansource.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi) was out of powder. Very handy for traveling.

Maybe to everyone who is repulsed by spirulina you simply don't need it and perhaps another form for whatever you are looking for in the spirulina? I love the taste, so I just assume my body needs it. I find it is great for when I crave a salty tasting something. A couple of those green pills and I'm good to go....

Seems we either love it or hate it. I love it in these two smoothies:
almond milk, pineapple, strawberries, and spirulina
coconut milk (water & meat), coconut oil, agave, vanilla, about 20 mint leaves, and spirulina
I've drinken it mixed with only water before. It is a quick meal replacement, but it tastes yucky. :p

i can see combo only
