Just wondering if everyone got enough of what they needed. I started integrating more veggies and fruits a little bit into my diet as I want to transition slowly..and I just got ravaging hungry later on in the day. Oddest thing. I am also trying to cut down on the coffee slowly..which is already showing signs of bad headaches. Coffee is my weakness and I drink it too much. I think this will be a difficult part of the detox.. :-/

There is a really good thread about giving up coffee around here somewhere.
I was a coffee and latte lover. Could not go a single day without it. I gave it up a few weeks into raw. As I detoxed from cooked foods I was able to recognize how badly the coffee was affecting me. That made it easier to give up. Find a substitute to get you through the first three weeks, rooibos tea worked for me. If you quit cold turkey, the withdrawal headaches should be over within 3 days. If you continue to fall back and have an occasional cup of brew, withdrawal will drag out much longer.
As for hunger, transition is a time to eat! Have fruit every hour if you need, too. Eat huge salads. Outside of the house, keep a bag of nuts and dried fruits with you to help avoid the temptations of eating something bad. Water can be very filling, too.
Those suggestions may not work for everybody, they did work for me.
Keep trying until you find what works best for you. :)
Of course I've felt hungry! It takes time for the body to normalize. It's pretty easy now, I just feel hungry when my body is actually hungry for real food. ;)

I am transitioning and also at a new job and just quit smoking (going on 2 months). I went from a very active job to sitting at a desk all day taking calls. I am always hungry but probably out of boredom. I only bring fruit, veggies, nuts, dried fruit and an occassional Kashi bar with me to work. This helps to not cave into the donuts, cakes, pies, cookies, soda and other stuff at work. I pack it in little containers and eat whatever I want when I want (I do limit the nuts and dried fruit though). I also freeze my juice so that I can have it during the day. I have tea when I first come in and then drink water until my juice thaws. I also try to drink water before I snack on anything just to make sure that I am not truly hungry. I too cut out the coffee when I stopped smoking and I only allow myself one small cup if I want it a day. I do not make it at home because the urge to smoke would be too great. I will only have it at work or out on the weekend.

Today is my 2nd day doing 100% and all day I've been sooo hungry. I've ate quite a bit. Some days, I don't get that hungry (other times I've attempted raw), but then I have days like today. Eat, eat, eat.

I'm super hungry right now!
I had a huge amount of food too, but it was all very light. about 1lb of mushroom, small head of broccoli, 1.5 baby bak choi heads.
Seasoned with S&P and some dressing, warmed and wilted in the dehydrator....
2-3 good sized portions, ate them all!
I could do at least that much again....
I ran out of the mush......and of course all that chopping takes time....

Totally normal until you get used to it. Eventually your body recognizes it's getting all the nutrition it needs from less quantity and you'll eat less. Lemon water is a big help IMHO too. And I make my salads in tupperware bowls or old cool whip containers (the big ones) those dinky corelle ware cereal bowls just don't cut it. lol
When I first started out in November I was hungry all the time. I used to go to the store each week and buy everything I thought I would need and would eat through most of it by the end of the week.
Now I'm not so hungry. Most days I have a green smoothie for breakfast, an orange or grapefruit for lunch, and something light in the evening - maybe even another smoothie. My sweets craving is nearly gone, probably due to the fruit I consume, but if I'm craving something sweet usually a banana w/honey or a date or two will satisfy it. I'm eating so much less now, my grocery bill has dropped to less than half of what it was. I just buy what I need for my smoothies, plus what I think might appeal to me as the week goes by.
I still make some recipes from LOLF, just finding that I'm not making them nearly as much as I did in the beginning. I just can't seem to eat all the food while its still fresh.
I stopped drinking coffee in November too. BTW, that headache and detox lasted for about three weeks off-and-on. No cravings whatsoever for the caffeine now though, so it was worth the pain.

Is it normal to be scared that I can't seem to grasp me just eating fruits and veggies for the rest of my life.. but I want to be as healthy as everyone is claiming. I NEED this! Its just scary to think about.. I think I may be waaay too attatched to my food, huh?

Do you actually HAVE Alissa's book yet? It's soooo much more than JUST fruits and veggies. It's salmon pate, and chocolate pudding and ice cream. It's just made with different ingredients. Someone told me today that a raw food diet sounded hideous. It only sounded hideous because she hadn't actually looked at it. All she heard was raw. For me, at the moment, I have gestational diabetes. So I have the choice of following the doctor's diet and counting everything I eat and eating by the clock and I can't have any white carbs whatsoever anyway..... Or I can eat raw. With no limits, no counting, no clock watching. I can still have bread and crackers and pasta - they're just made from raw living foods. Or.... I can also have dessert. Imagine me telling my OB that I eat ice cream and pudding whenever I want to. :p Seriously. They want me to only eat like 2 servings of fruit a day, and one serving is half a banana. What do you suppose they would say if I told them I ate a whole mango for breakfast, dried fruits for snacks, and ate probably 5 "servings" of fruit in a smoothie every day? I guarantee you they wouldn't buy it looking at my BG#s! :D
