I am sooooooo excited, I just had to come share my joy (once again) with my raw food family! My friend surprised me today by ordering me the black 9 tray Excalibur dehydrator with the 26 hour timer and on/off switch! I am out of my mind excited right now! :D <= This is LITERALLY how my face looks right now! Isn't he the best ever?!?!?!! I'm so thrilled, I can't wait to make all sorts of wonderful foods with it. One of the first will be pizza. My 11 year old has been a bit bummed and asking if we'll ever have pizza again (lol, my poor baby) and now we will!! She's so happy about this!

They say it will ship within the next 48 hours, I'm so impatient...I can barely wait. But I guess I have no choice! :p

Rest assure there will be pictures posted in this thread AS SOON as it arrives. ...now to think of a good name for him/her, I haven't decided on the gender as of yet.

But Yaaaayyyy me!!! I'm soo happy, I'm sooo happy!

Thank you! I am happy to be in such excellent company! :) *waves hello to Zeus* I'm still thinking on a name... I might have to wait until he's "born" /arrives to see what name he/she "looks like," and name him/her accordingly, the way I did with my human child. Maybe it'll be a boy and I'll have a matching set (male/female) of raw food tools. :p I'm sure I'll still use Veeta more, she helps me at least 3 times a day as is. But I really look forward to my dehydrator helping my daughter with some of the "big ticket SAD foods" she misses.

I'm ready to make pizza, chili, sweet potato chips, cheesy kale chips....oh! just so much! My daughter will be thrilled and did I mention that I'm out of my mmind excited???:p

ETA: Hey, I'm a sprout now!!! I just noticed. lol

Oh! The mere thought of that is intoxicating!! :p

I'm really excited to make my raw pancakes and have them be all warm and ready for my daughter to eat when she awakes! :D

Mine is Christine.

She kills the bad cravings, over and over again. She's relentless!

I keep looking at pics of it online...and I think my dehydrator will be a boy. The name Debo keeps coming to mind. :p He'll be the man of the kitchen. My Kitchen Aide mixer's name is Moxie (she's so lonely these days), my Vita Mix is Veeta...so I think it's time to have a man in the kitchen. :p

Indeed it is, thank you so much RawKnitster! I was just thinking to myself that I hope it gets here before Sunday so that I can make goodies for the Super Bowl!! I don't think it'll get here that fast though...I need to go do a search and see what the average delivery time is.

I've got good news and I've got bad news. The good news is, my dehydrator is here...bad news is, it's locked inside my leasing office. :( FedEx delivered it at 4:45, as I sat at work finishing up a meeting that went long. My leasing office wasn't SUPPOSED to close until 5:30, which would've given me time to get home...but when I called, the manager told me that she was leaving early. *flings self on the floor* :(:( So...here I sit on my couch....with my beloved dehydrator a stones throw from my door. This is horrible...just horrible I tell you. I was so upset about it I couldn't even get on and type it out until now.

I walked over to check the mail just now and a smile was brought to my face. What did I find in my mailbox but the one and only Alissa Cohen. Ok, well it wasn't HER, but her book! :p This brought a little joy to my otherwise gut wrenching night. I'm reading to my little heart's content right now.

I will post pictures of my beloved Debo (dehydrator, hehehe) tomorrow when I return from work.

Lol, I named mine Heidi! or should I spell it Hydee? Have fun when you finally get your hands on it. I finally made cheezy kale chips for the first time and they are pretty darn good!

That is soooo funny! My daughter suggested I name ours Heidi, short for Dehydrator. LOL! That it so ironic! But I decided we needed a man in the kitchen. :D

Ooooh, cheezy kale chips! I can't wait to make them! Yum, yum, yum!!!

Congrats! I'm going to have to wait a month or two before I can order mine. :) I can't wait though...I'm so eager to make veggie chips and stuff like that for snacking.

I'll be calling mine Edward. hehe These days I name everything after my favorite vampire. Bought a nice new car in July of last year...beautiful black Santa Fe...his name is Edward.

Bad reviews on the Excalibur?? Oh wow! I've never 'heard' a bad word about them. As I understood it, they are the "Cadillac" of dehydrators. If I happen to get a bum unit, I'm not worried. That's where the 10 year warranty kicks in.

I'm loving it thus far. Made my daughter raw pancakes for breakfast this morning! Planning to make Kale chips, more pancakes, Cheez Its, Burgers and Black Sesame Seed Bread (as the 'bun'), and some mexican crackers! w00 h00! I may not sleep this entire weekend!

w00t w00t! I am so happy!! Snow on the ground, Ani Phyo's Sun Burgers and Black Sesame Sunflower bread in the dehydrator, along with some Cheez Its!!! My daughter came in just in time to help me with the Cheez Its and exclaimed, "It smells sooo good in here!!" I must admit...it is smelling yummy! :D I can't wait for everything to be done. I have to make Ani's sundried tomato catsup and mustard as well

Next up...cheezy kale chips and Alissa's mexican crackers and then I'll put my pancakes in to dehydrate over night so they'll be warm for morning. :D

I looooooooooooove my Debo!! :D

Here's the bread...I'm thinking I should've spread it thinner, but too late now!

The burgers and bread turned out great looking and yummy smelling...only they lack in flavor a bit. They taste flat...I'm a bit bummed by that, but I'll consider it a lesson learned. My daughter ate it without complaints so that was good and she even said it was, "So good!" Next time I'll add more seasoning-onion, garlic and perhaps more oregano. Still thinking about what other savory seasonings I could use. Suggestions are welcomed. :)

I snuck a taste of the cheezits and they are soooooo good! I wish they'd hurry up already!
