There are so many information sources out there for raw foods.. I wasn't sure if there were limitations on what to eat. For example, that book 80/10/10 its mostly fruit. Do you guys personally put any limitations on things? or just eat until you are satisfied ? I know that everything is ok in moderation, but it is all good food..so I wasnt sure!
Thanks!!

I believe that in order to stick with being raw, you should keep things as simple as possible by only doing raw. Then once that becomes part of your life, you can gradually modify it according to your needs. My rules were as long as it's raw and organic. Though it also depends on if you have any severe health issues.

Alissa's philosophy (which is what this forum is based upon and is here to support) is eating raw live foods... no limits, no counting calories or percentages... it's really simple and works!
Hence, why I'm here... I love what she teaches...
ENJOY your food!
(of course, overindulgence in anything is not good... so eating 5 pounds of nuts in a day is not going to make your body feel very good... common sense is a good thing)

This forum is based on Alissa Cohen's book "Living on Live Food" and her dvd's. My suggestion ~ eat whatever you want, when you want as long as it's raw. Eventually your body will tell you what IT wants ~ more fruit one day, more veggies another. Maybe a full day of mangos... Just eat raw, stay nurtured and nourished and remember, play with your food. :)

How EXCITING! This is coming from a girl who did hardcore weight watchers... it was so stressful to me because everything was numbers...by the end of the day between stressing over what and what not to eat..and making sure I stayed within my limitations my head was spinning!

Raw, the way Alissa shares it, is about freedom from all that. Go for it!

My partner is worried that I will not have sufficient time to prepare meals etc due to our busy lifestyle and just wants to make sure I am going to be healthy. She has seen a lot of other people in her life go through "Crash" diets.

The only limitations are the ones your body dictates. You might find yourself gravitating towards a certain approach over time (low fat, or low sugar, or high greens, etc.), but I honestly think it's better to let your body lead the way than to force restrictions from the get-go. Just eat enough raw food to stay satiated, and if you feel the need, fine-tune things over the course of your journey. You will learn pretty quickly what makes you feel good and what doesn't, as long as you pay attention to your body. :)

If you mean on the forum, check out the forum Rules + Guidelines.
If you mean in general with Raw, the answer is NO! ;) Listen to YOUR Body... it will help you eventually design your own personal guru-path!! :D

I would add one important note though:
Your body will come to tell you what it wants in time, but as a former SADder, initially, you may be confused about your body's signals, since the SAD diet is VERY addictive. Give it at least 1 if not two or more weeks full-on (100%) and then you will start to know what your body really wants, not simply what it thinks it wants (i.e. sugar, bread, alcohol, caffeine, etc.) No body really wants these things, at least not how they are consumed in modern society.
