How do you eat yours?
When I was growing up, I used to cut one in half, cut all around the inside and eat it with a spoon.
When I met my husband, he would peel it like an orange or cut them like an orange - so that is how I started eating them, and so that is how my children now eat them.
So, how do you eat yours?

Like you did, growing up. Or, I juice them.

I mostly juice them since I can get them pretty cheap at my farmers market in 25 pound bags. My son eats them just if I remove all of the skin for him, so I pack it this way for him for his lunches.

I do the work of peeling it and then reap the wet, sweet, juicy reward. An intimate experience.

I peel it, then unwrap each segment and eat every little morsel of the tender insides.

I cut the peel off with a knife, leaving the pith on the fruit, then I cut it in sections, take out the seeds and blend it in the Vita-Mix. Thinking about it is making me want one. Good thing I've got four grapefruits in the fridge. :)

Halved with a little stevia or honey on top. Anyone else have grapefruit spoons?

I have not seen a grapefruit spoon in years. Very handy to have. :)

at home, I split it w/a grapefruit spoon. We have about 6 of these...they're good for other melons & things too. Out, I can peel it like an orange. It was an adjustment but I've never seen anyone cutting an orange & eating with a spoon!!

I used to cut in half & than cut along the thick skin & eat with a spoon (with salt or sugar), but now I do the same first two steps, & than push it out. I eat it just like that. I want to save the rinds for other meals. I don't even peel oranges anymore, I just bite them, like they were an apple. :)

Well, I go to a little more work, but I like it this way: Slice in half, use a grapefruit knife to go around the segments, put the segments into a bowl, then squeeze the shells to get as much juice as possible. Yum!
And I wish I could find a good buy on grapefruit. I am in the Phoenix area where the trees are drooping from all the fruit and the absolute cheapest I have found is 50 cents a pound, and that was only one time.
