I read somewhere that I could add a slice of lemon to my tea for flavor, but it just seems like it gives it a bitter flavor. It must be the rind? I might be better off just squeezing a wedge of lemon in there instead of just adding a slice? And, does anyone know, is the rind harmful?

I squeeze half a lemon into my tea every morning. Love the tartness. Great for the gall bladder and liver to kick start the day.

Lots of people here seem to throw the whole lemon into the vitamix (I haven't tried that) so I would think the lemon rind is not harmful. I don't think its the rind as much as the white pith that is contributing to bitterness.

No the rind isn't harmful. The pith is good stuff, and the peel or "essence" contain the essential oil. All good. :)
