View Full Version : Hand discoloration while raw?

I've recently stepped up my consumption of raw leafy greens (mostly spinach, but also some kale and raw green powder for smoothies). I don't know if it's related, but I've also recently begun to notice some odd coloration on the backs of my hands. The backs of my fingers seem a bit yellowish, and my knuckles are a slight grayish-brown. I know that increased consumption of beta-carotene can lead to skin discoloration on the palms, but the only discoloration on my palms is a slight gray tinge to my fingertips. I'm a bit concerned about jaundice and/or my circulation, and I'm seeing my family practitioner next week, but I wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks!

I've had friend turn greenish/ bluish/ greyish when she over consumed powdered barley green. Same friend also got an awesome orangey tan glow when she consumed carrot juice for months on end

I have turned orange before. It was weird, but at least I knew I had enough vitamin A, haha

Haha, it's good to know I'm not the only human stoplight out there. :P I figure the blue/grey tinge is due to the frigid temps here on the east coast. I'm just not used to it yet! Thanks for your responses.
