I'm smoothie fasting until the end of February. For the first couple days, my good friend and roommate thought it was okay I was blending. But now, she keeps telling me that it's "not balanced" to eat "only smoothies". I've been sorta shrugging it off, but every time she comments it really weakens my resolve. Makes me feel like I'm doing something weird...
What can I do to stay motivated on my fast? I have no desire to convince her of the validity of what I'm doing; I just want to be left alone. :(
I know this is a bit vague, but any insight or encouragement would be appreciated. I often think it would be easier to eat just to shut her up.

Read up on all the inspirational fasting stories. Aleesha on here has many. There are also websites, blogs and forums that talk about how beneficial fasting has been for their health such as Angela Stokes, Global Juice Feast and Juice Feasting (all domains).

i agree. when she starts talking, leave the room!
i'm more clear in my relationships. i simply let people know that if they don't feel supportive, not to fake it, just to keep it to themselves. i don't wanna hear it. i know what i'm doing, i've done the research, i've lived through hundreds of days of fasting and i don't need to hear their negative/concerned/whatever comments. period.
works for me... no one bothers me now.
and if someone i don't really know says something, i just tell them that once they've done some research i'd be happy to discuss it with them (if i'm not in the mood to bless them with a droplet of knowledge on the spot) :)
cause no one ever said anything to me when i was 300 pounds and pounding back the crap food i was eating... sitting on the couch doing nothing. i find it almost comical that now they care what i'm eating LOL (or not eating)
