So - from time to time, the great salt debate emerges, I've had some new insight and thought I would throw that out for you all.....

On a recent business trip to peurto rico, I had some free time and indulged in some dips in the ocean....yeah it's a rough job peeps, but has a few perks.:D

Anyhoo - so this ocean water is really salty! I NEVER knew how much water gets into you when you're swimming! I will NEVER go into a clorinated pool again, omg!!!

Anyway - since I could actually taste the salt water, no matter what I did, it kept getting into my mouth - usually through my nose. I have never noticed this in pools or in lakes. Then again - the wave action is much much much more forceful.....

I am sure I consumed more salt in a 30 minute dip into the ocean than I do all day with my little celtic salt grinder....

This has really ended any question in my mind about salt consumption. I can't imagine anything more wholesome or natural or closer to eden than sea bathing in the tropics.

About an hour later and 1.5 mile walk back to the hotel, I leaned over to untie my shoe and about an ounce of ocean exited my nose. I was so shocked as I had tried to get it all out at the time. the natural neti!

With water, I found in the hot humid climate, and I had to eat mostly fruit by neccesity, I drank very little water. But when I was in vegas last year - I drank about 12-15 cups a day.

So yeah - don't force this stuff. Don't over think. If you are raw - you'll be draw to what you need and eventually step away from what is not best for you. Just go with the flow and enjoy!

Raw, I can't stand chlorinated pools. The smell is awful and I feel ill. I feel ill afterwards too. The last time I swam in a chlorinated pool I felt like I had the flu for a few days after.

I've swam in ocean water that I found out later was HIGHLY polluted. No noticeable ill effects, though.

Of course I'll try to stick to cleaner areas, but it's sea water all the way for me, baby.

Sounds like a great awakening and trip, thanks for your cool insight!
