I am wanting to add more "green/veggie" juice to my daily diet, but my Champion Juicer just doesn't do a good enough job.
I had read on here that you can blend your veggies with some water, then strain through a nut milk bag. Then you have the juice and the pulp/fiber separate. Do you yield a good amount of juice by doing it the blender way, or should I just use the Champion?
Thanks!!!

you'll get WAY more using your vita-mix and a nut mylk bag than you will with your champion... sad but true.
my greenstar does a great job on the greens... but i do so love having both...

Thank you so much Aleesha, I knew I could count on you :D
I'm about ready to take you up on your challenge of a juice/smoothie fast starting February 1st. So you will see plenty of post on the fasting board ;)
I was just trying to see if the juicing of the greens would be doable so I could add them to my juice fast.
Green Star is on my very long wish list ;)
Thanks so much for always getting to my questions!!

The Champion is a workhorse and GREAT for hard root veggies like carrots, beets, etc. I use to make a combination of carrots, beets, beet/carrot tops, etc. BUT, if you're looking at going more green, sad to say, Champion is not the best for that. It's REALLY good for "ice cream" though.
I'd test it out and see which works better for you. A painter's bag doesn't cost that much so, if you find one works better for you than the other, you'll be saving money in the long run.

Yes, my champion does great juicing my combo. of carrots, beets, celery, cucumber, and apple. And it is yummy :D
But, I'm thinking if I'm going to do a juice fast, that I will need to add greens to the juices to help with the sugars, right?
I will try to use the Blendtec to see how it works for the green juice, and my daughter could use the pulp for her pulp patties (she loves these).
I do have some paint strainers, and I have one nut milk bag, so I have plenty to use for straining.
I'm nervous/excited about the fast, but trying to get all my ducks in a row before I start.
Thank you!!!
Cathy
