I have endometriosis, I was only diagnosed with mild endo w/some adhesions 5 years ago, but more severe adenomyosis. Both conditions were getting extremely painful before my son was born. The pain has reduced significantly since he was born, he is almost two and although I need pain meds on the first day I don't have to take vicoprofen anymore. I do have fibroids, which got much worse during my pregnancy (they doubled in size!) so my periods tend to be on the heavy side.

I would love to hear if you see any improvement in your pain levels!!

After 105 days on all-raw/living vegan diet, I CAN say that my pain AND the length of my cycles has reduced slightly (I've had 3 cycles since beginning this Challenge).

However, pelvic pain at unpredictable times prevails, and (TMI alert) intercourse is still too painful to even consider. To be honest, sex terrifies me right now.

We have decided to hold off on EVERYTHING until I AM healed, and then to consider trying to get pregnant (which will still require a little doctoral intervention, but not nearly so much as before :D).

I am HOPEFUL. I am HEALED.
It's happening... one step at a time.

I had good results as well with it last year....and is part of why I am going raw again.

Sooo green woman, do you plug the greens or what?

I'm looking at surgery in the summer if I can't get it under control. Me thinks I can though :)

I have not only endo, but also ovarian cysts, cystic breast and acne...all of which are estrogen dominant symptoms, with pretty much the only thing left for me to get is cancer of one of the above! Not good! ...not that I'm scaring myself into this...I am just ready...soooo officially ready. Today was good, but I caved at the end, but that's just becaus I decided on a whim and don't have some of the staples on hand that I need to make it easy.

anyways...I'm betting we can get rid of the pain, and it won't get worse...not totally convinced I can make it down right disappear though...but maybe!

I am glad to hear that you are doing better on this diet! That's good to hear.

For me, the pregnancy helped tremendously. I was surprised how much it actually helped reduce my pain levels. That and, I have been breastfeeding my son for two years now (not planning to wean anytime soon) and I think that might be helping as well. I only have pain for one day, and sometimes I can wait until bedtime to take an advil. It used to be much MUCH worse before I got preggo, I used to be on vicodin/vicoprofen for 2-3 days per cycle (several pills per day). If I did not take something, I would be rolling on the floor screaming, and I remember a point when vicodin didn't do anything by itself I had to be on a combination of painkillers. It sucked!

Good luck, please keep us posted!

Bananna, I had all of these symptoms before I got pregnant. Endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibrocystic breasts (they were VERY painful), cystic acne, multiple ovarian cysts, and really weird cycles (missed a period for two months, sometimes had two in one month). Almost all of my symptoms have disappeared thanks to pregnancy and extended breastfeeding. I do have a thyroid disorder (hasthimotos) which is thought to be the root of most of my problems. Crazy how the pregnancy/breastfeeding has straightened me out!!

Please, also keep us posted!

EarthMamma: I have heard from more than a few ladies that pregnancy relieves their symptoms. My birthmum was fine as long as she was continually having children, as well, but once she turned 40 and stopped having babies, the Endometriosis became so horrific that she ended up getting surgery to have everything removed.

Pregnancy is not an option for me at this time. Healing myself on Raw and Living Foods? THAT is definitely by best shot, and it's WORKING. :D

Banana: Just remember... without exception, what you THINK about, where you place your FOCUS, is what you GET. Your thoughts about every experienced, and especially about the dis-ease in your body, are absolutely the major controlling factor. Change your thinking both about "staying Raw" and about healing yourself naturally.

Surgery is not a cure - it's the "last chance" for some women, but YOU have a gift: you know how to heal your Body. Take charge of your thoughts and intentions. Powerfully intend your Life to be a Life of HEALING and your Body to be WHOLE... and it will be.

I ve had surgery for endo almost 7 years ago - My pain was not as bad as you all describe...

Problem with endo is that it comes back...Originally I was to be on hormonal pills until I decided to get pregnant.

However, I stopped eating meat and endo hasn't come back although I do not take any pills atm (I have at the very beginning, maybe for a year or two).

GOOD LUCK and keep us posted :D

Thanks Green Woman, you are so right!

Earth Mama 33, I too experienced remission with my pregnancies and breast feeding. I was either doing one or the other for 11 years straight actually, which is why my diagnosis has come so late...I had a lot of pausing going on.
