I was listening to a holistic MD last pm. He said that when a pt has always had trouble losing wt not matter what diet, he does an allergy test specificly looking at gluten & soy. Most will have a latent allergy to one or both of those. When they stop eating this, the will slowly start to lose the wt. I found this interesting bc after bc a veggie, I had a lot of soy & some gluten products. I've always had troubel losing the wt. I lost 100lbs in 99-2000 when I stopped breads/sweets. After baby, had surgery, gained tremendous amt. Couldn't get it off no matter what. Since starting raw, obviously no gluten or soy. The wt has been dropping..down 4 sizes since July (I'm not 100%) and the current size is starting to sit on my hips.
I found this interesting & am going to share with SAD people too. I think the fresh produce helps bc we're not getting those products. This MD actually stressed lots of water, fresh uncooked produce, herbs, smoothies & juicing. Sadly, I do not remember his name..he was on the Joni Lamb show.

Rawwwwwww has been the only way I have been able to combat food reaction. I battled food intolerance for the last 10 years it took 3 DAYS Raw to change my life. NO more bloating, My skin no longer hurts like it was tightening, irritability gone. NO craving. No more tears of frustration and most of all I no longer feel like a failure. Years of diet and exercise not to budge an oz. 10 days RAW I was losing with out trying. I had major reactions to soy and once you start looking at ingredients you see soy is in almost every packaged food on the market.

One of the most frustrating experiences had been the medical community not really getting it. My Doc would blow me off and write a script for water pills. That was his answer. I would be crying and he'd look at me like I was speaking a foreign language.

On the lighter side I had dinner with the girls last night for the first time since going RAWWWWW we went to cheese cake factory (My favorite restaurant) I though it would be challenging but it turned out to be a up lifting experience. The food looked great but I had no desire to eat it.

13 weeks 100% RAW and I'm feeling GREAT!!!! Ann

My naturopath suggested I have a gluten/grain intolerance hence my addiction to it. I have been off them for 3 weeks and I have no food cravings anymore. Its like I have to tell myself to eat sometimes. This is what "normal" people appetites are like. WOW. Am slowly losing weight too. Been eating too many nuts - if I cut back on those the weight would be falling off.
