Hi! I'm new to Rawfoodtalk so I think I'm putting messages in the wrong places! (Hope this is the right place now! ~ thanks Snoops!). I've been on raw for 2 weeks now and this time I'm really committed. Yay! :D. I'm feeling yuck, lost no weight, now have thrush in my mouth(!), first time ever, itchy bottom etc. and no energy. Whats confusing me is that there is a lot of conflicting advice regarding how to combat candida on the blogs ~ I thought that just following Alissa's book and eating her way would combat it??? Has she advised anyone on how to do it? I know she had candida, but I'm confused on what to eat, should it be low fat?, because reading info on her forums she doesn't seem to recommend that? I would prefer to eat what she recommends in her book because its WAY better than how I was eating! I'm hoping this is just detox (yay!) and I'll just "grin & bear it"! I started taking Wormwood (for parasite & yeast infection eradication) yesterday, so perhaps thats why I'm feeling weaker than normal? Any help would be great, thanks!

Hi Brenda,

I struggle with Candida and am still prone to it. I seem to be symptom free when I eat low fat - low sugar diet. So, eat alot of GREENS and low glycemic fruits. For me the worst food combining is sugars and fats together. So raw food deserts are full of nuts and sugar and I get inflammed. But, when I eat mostly salads, green juices, and green smoothies I am pretty good and lose weight too.

GOod Luck

Thanks for that Jen.:) I just wish Alissa would let us all know what she did. Reading between the lines it seems we are to follow what she says in her book and we should get success. I feel for now that being raw is extreme enough, I'm not sure I have the will or courage to take out fruit and fats, doesn't seem to leave much! I guess, it depends on how much I want to be well, hey? Well done, you're obviously very tuned into your body now ...
