Good morning everyone!
I had been eating more raw foods for a few months now, until about three weeks ago when I became ill. So unfortunately I have kind of reverted back to some SAD, but still having alot of fruits and veggies.
Anyway, my question is does anyone have sleep apnea and if so have you found that eating strictly raw foods help eliminate sleep apnea or help it in any way?
I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea last summer and have been using an APAP machine since then. I do not fit the profile of a sleep apnea person either (overwieght, unhealthy). I am 41, 148 pounds and am fairly healthy (except for this darn cough I've had for three weeks). I had been walk/jogging three days a week, up until I got sick that is.
Any info would be great.
Oh yea, I just ordered Alissa's book and cd and can't wait to start reading it!

What is "sick/ill" to you? Very often when people begin eating more raw, meaning more fiber, their bodies begin to eliminate excess garbage which may have been what's happened with you.
What's really interesting to me is that when one feels ill, they revert back to their old habits instead of what's healthy ~ that means a healthy food program, movement, receiving bodywork, etc. This is not just you. This is in general. Just chatting aloud here.
As far as sleep apnea, my ex-boyfriend had it and he was neither overweight or basically unhealthy. Didn't eat raw either so, can't help you there.
My suggestion ~ eat raw, 100% for 30 days and tell US what happens with you! Keep a diary. Let us know if/when that changes. Something you might want to do in the meantime ~ google "retracing". It will give you some information of what may happen when changing one's food program.
Can't wait to hear about!!!
Enjoy!

Thanks Revvell. Went to the doc yesterday, they are testing me for Whooping Cough. Having this cough and being too fatigued to do anything, I am doing the best I can to eat right. Today I am feeling a bit better then I did three weeks ago. He said they have had confirmed cases in our area. So I am waiting on bloodtest to verify. With the dry cough and hacking up a lung everytime, he was suspicious. We are not positive that is what it is yet.
I have emailed Eva (a member of this board and a raw food instructor) has suggested I up my smoothies and juices. She is actually going to come to my house tomorrow for a class on healing food/soups that will help me heal. Since I am still quite new to this, I need all the help I can get.
I have tried to research raw food and sleep apnea, but there is not much info out there about it. Thats why I thought Id post it here.
Any other input would be great from fellow members :)

Eva's GREAT! Good on ya!
I've probably had that cough. I don't give it names cuz then I feel I own it. If it's whooping cough, or whipping cough, or, whatever cough. Doesn't matter. Same stuff will heal it and I KNOW Eva will point you in the right direction.
I wanna hear about it too!!!! :)

It is an interesting concept but I did not find any particularly credible information. Could you please point me in the direction of a good source of info on this. I am about a month into full raw again, and started up my exercise program 2 weeks ago and I feel really awful, getting on the treadmill just makes me want to cry. In previous times where I have eaten all raw and exercised I felt really great...It just is not happening this time. I do not think I will revert back to cooked food but I almost do not have the energy to prepare anything at all.
I do not mean to hi-jack the thread but you have piqued my interest with this idea.
A specific link that you found informative would be very much appreciated.
