Is there anything you can't ferment? Like something that attracts pathogenic bacteria or some'n? Or can I ferment away on any food I want? Just checkin ya know I don't wanna die forever or nothin like that.

There's a gent not too far from me who is testing that. Far as I know, he's still here... *whispers* far as I know. :)

Well, it would be his kitchen. He was testing everything he could. Let us know how it works for you. Oh! I did an interview with ... hmmm, I think it was Viktoras Kulvinskas ... or Fred Bisci... Vicktor, I think, who said he's got a way to easily ferment anything you want if you just send him an email.

actually i was checking these out tonight because i got one of those glass jars with the airlock... started kraut in it on friday...instructions say that it only takes 4-5 days....!!! but everywhere else in recipes i see it taking weeks. still didnt find the answer on those forums but if anyone happens to know the answer I'd love to know.
