i have roommates so the fridge space is limited... I can still get a fair amount but I would like to get lots of goodies because my vitamix blender is coming soon!!
I don't a episode of before where I had literally little clouds of fruit flies in the place.
I'm not clear on what you're wanting help with... *Ü*

I store fruit in my oven... but that might not work if you have a roommate who cooks. :)
Can you get a mini-fridge? Or even just a cooler? Unless you live somewhere really warm, many raw foods (especially fruit) won't need refrigeration. If fruit flies become a problem, get some air-tight containers or ziploc bags.

sounds like a recipe for rotten fruit....
I leave pears, apples, bananas, pineapples, oranges, avocados, tomatoes out on the counter/table.
Grapes, berries, etc. need the fridge, as do greens and cucumbers......

I was thinking about the mini fridge too! At least there'll be plenty of spaces for your roommates in the main fridge. I used to have one and works wonder for extra food on hand!!

That's what I do. I use a mini fridge that has a Programmable Thermostat (http://www.prothermostats.com/) that I bought online. That way, my fruit stays fresh, but it doesn't have to be so cold. (I don't like biting into a really cold apple.)

That is wher i will store my fruit from now on.. My husband keeps asking me. So what do we do with this oven ? You don't cook any more in it.. I just found a cupbaord to store my stuff that will not need to be put in the icebox..:D

You could also dehydrate them all, though would need a dehydrator which takes up the same amount of space as a mini-fridge. Wait I know! Put the dehydrator on top of your mini-fridge:cool:.
