I just completed an 8/9 day fast which I am eternally grateful for. :) In day 3 of tranitioning back to food and am having some severe digestion issues....
I have been eating melon and greens and grapes, still chuggin my water and have had a nightly treat of honey with some almond butter. Yesterday I started drinking cider again....
My tummy has gotten extremely bloated and uncomfortable and I have lots of (loud :o) gas and no bm since Tue.
Started a yoga class last night and learned something for digestion/elimination so doing that periodaclly - does anyone have any suggestions for anything else that might help me along.....or am I being impatient :o?

ditch the almond butter... sooooooo hard on your digestion!
breaking a fast is more important than the fast itself.
restart the breaking process... do a day of green smoothies/raw soups.
then the next day add in some fresh fruit with the green smoothies
next day add a small green salad for dinner but otherwise continue with fruit and smoothies.
day four... if you feel ready, add some more simple raw foods. nothing nut/dehydrated/complex (meaning lots of ingredients) for a week (or longer)
try adding some probiotics as well if your body tells you it needs it (muscle testing or simply asking your Self)

oh and no water while you are taking in food... it waters down your digestive juices and you need to allow your digestion to do what it needs to do.

Does this timeline also go for someone who wants to break a 30 day fast? Or does it take even longer, generally?

the longer the fast, the slower the break.
water fasts are much slower to break than juice fasts. green smoothie feasts are much quicker to break.

So, I guess I'll just triple the times that you listed, since my fast will be about 3 times as long. We'll see how that goes :)

That's the hardest part for me too. Even smoothies would maker me feel bad, but last time I used digestive enzymes with it and it helped tremendously. I think my body doesn't want to make enzymes after the fast, so that helps.

I believe that is so true....if you don't eat it, your body does not produce the enzymes to digest it. I totally agree about taking it SLOW SLOW SLOW.
Agreed though, you've learned a good lesson.
After my first fast, I finally believed about food combining. I knew about it for over twenty years but didn't quite believe it! (I'm a slow learner) LOL.

so is your fast a month long? it'll take you about 1-2 weeks to break it. no nuts until after that... and perhaps - depending on your body - for about a month after.

Stop eating the solid foods and eat nothing but high water content foods until you feel better.
