I'd like to start off by asking if you believe that playing music is therapuetic, and has a healing effect on your psyche or body? (Gotta meet forum requirements.. hehe)

If you do, what instrument you play? How long? Youtube videos? What style? Favorite artists / composers?

I sing, write songs, & play guitar...
...if I didn't, not so sure I'd still be here...or sane....or who I am...

...it's definately healing, it's a catalyst for change for me,
when I write songs, they pour out freely from the depths of my being,
often directly to God,
& sometimes are just to share with others what He's taught, given, revealed to me...

I want to learn to play piano this year,
{I've longed to for years!}
& when I can afford to get one, I will learn to play the harp,
because I believe the songs I'll write with it will be on a whole new level...

When I'm a little braver, I'll be putting them on YouTube...

Cyndee, I'm youtubin you right now and its so hard to hear you in a lot of the songs =(. Beautiful playing tho, you play some trippy music for sure. Do you have any solo's available for a music enthusiast?

Anastazia, learning the piano is super easy! One day I just picked up a cheap $30 keyboard and started playing. All you have to do is learn how to read sheet music (It's really not hard, and I developed a system to easily develop sight reading ability for beginners if you're interested) and gradually play harder and harder songs. Keep on challenging yourself to sound like the professionals, and your technique will come along for sure. It's much easier than you might think. I'm actually playing right now lol, it's my absolute love.

You should definately upload some guitar solos ^^

Took six years of piano lessons as a child. Still play it weekly and sing harmony with my church's worship band every Sunday. Taught myself to play guitar in Junior High but never could get past about 13-14 chords. I have extremely small hands (especially for someone 5'10") and I could never master bar chords. However, I could play and sing anything you want as long as it's in the key of C, G or D. :D :D

My entire extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins-five-times removed, etc. all have the ability to pick up harmonies really easily. We can hear a song for the first time and have some mean four and five part harmony going before the end of the first verse. Couldn't begin to count the hours we've all spent singing together through the years.

And yes, nothing makes me feel more whole or complete than piddlin' at my piano and singing.

Operatic Light Coloratura Soprano.

Stylistic Pianist.

Formerly Orchestral Clarinetist.

Formerly Lead Singer in Family Worship Band.

Former Guitarist, amongst numerous other instruments (extremely musical family - we sang and I rehearsed DAILY throughout childhood).

Music is ABSOLUTELY therapeutic. Without it, I'd be a full-time basket case. Piano (the physical connection of fingers on keys) is especially blissful for me.
