Okay, as y'all can see by my number of posts, I'm pretty new. But I am absolutely elated and had to share that I grew sprouts for the first time!!!

This is a huge miracle for me! The idea I can actually make something grow, see it get green and change shape right before my eyes. I sprouted buckwheat, and I might just let it get big, even though I read buckwheat greens are toxic, because I'm so excited to see it change OVERNIGHT!

It's such a miracle; I'm so humbled. And completely sold on raw. In fact, I think I'm hooked. Already planning to get a community garden plot this summer. I can see God (or Gaia or whoever :)) in each little sprout, giving me a gift, like He gave me the gift of life.

Any suggestions for really beautiful sprouts I can grow in my window?

sunflower sprouts should be pretty easy to sprout in your window.

Take care, Paul.

yyaaayy! I'm happy for you! I sprout too and love it. I live in a city and it helps me to feel tuned in to nature.

I grow buckwheat as mini-greens. I figure I'm fine eating it in small amounts 1 or 2x a week. If I react to light, I'll stop it. But you can find something wrong with anything when you eat too much. Sprouting and mini-greens allows me to have more variety in my diet, and it's a beautiful thing, doing mini-farming!

A big congrat's! Isn't it awsome to enjoy fresh sprouts on a wrap or topping your dinner salad? Enjoy your bounty.

Stina, I'm on Vancouver Island, so we're like neighbours! Cool!
