How high should grass be before cut and how low do you cut it?

I cut mine at about 8 inches or so and I use a very sharp serrated knife.

I like the taste of the WG juice best when fresh harvested, juiced and consumed at 3 to 5 inches long on the first growing with no additional growings.

The nice guy on the "Sproutpeople" video on U Tube says it's a matter of personal preference. You try chewing it or juicing it at various lengths. I didn't do that because I'd forgotten he said that and mine was around 8 or 9 inches!:eek: (in just 7 days!).

Thanks for your replies! Do you cut it right at the seed or will that stop it from growing again? I have read that some people let it grow one more time but the lady at the store says the 2nd growing doesn't taste as good and doesn't really have the same nutritional value at all...

I cut it about 1/2 inch above what would be the soil line. I tried getting a second cutting out of the flat but was disappointed so gave it up pretty early on. Growing your own is pretty easy once you get your system down to fit your usage. Awsome stuff...truly awsome.
