Hi My name is Amy.

I've been doing raw for aprox 3 weeks, and was doing Atkins since the 11th of Dec. I lost 12 lbs on the first week of Atkins, but realized it really wasn't something I wnated to do long-term and it felt so wrong eating all that animal fat. I had heard about raw before but didn't wanna live on carrot sticks and celery for the rest of my life and thought that raw foodists were really starving themselves- but I'd really not done any research on it at all. I had just seen how much weight a friend lost and thought "there is no way she's eating- I couldn't't live that way." (now that attitude from others just kills me but I don't preach) Anyway- since going raw I"ve lost 8 more lbs and I weigh in again in 2 days. I really feel great! I had had a head cold for a long time and the DAY AFTER I went raw it was completely gone. I"ve also gone off my anti-depressants which would have been REALLY bad before. I'm happier than I ever was ON the pills!!!!!

I'm a Mom of 5 under 8. I'm 26. um- what else... I suppose there isn't much else to say..

oh- I love my Hurom!!:o:p:cool: (and smilies)

hehe :o I feel so silly when people say they are jealous of the hurom. What- not jealous of the 5 kids under 8? what gives! :D *sings- "I haaave been bleeessed."

I also wanted to say that I was never diagnosed but suspect chronic fatigue syndrome. completely gone! I actually worked out the other night because I didn't know what else to do with my energy. I think I can live with that. *nods*

I just weighed in today- 3.5 lbs lost this week!! I'll take that!

I just ran across this site while I was looking for recipes. I have a blendtec and make smoothies during the summer but am wanting to go raw and don't know good recipes. Obviously I'm doing something wrong because I just threw some vegetables and fruits in the blender but I don't know what liquid to put in. Also want to make sure I'm getting protein of some kind without having to eat meat for it. Hope I'm making sense here as it's all new to me.

That says it ALL! You need to stay healthy and keep up a HIGH energy level. Good thing you found living foods! Best raw wishes to you. :)

That says it ALL! You need to stay healthy and keep up a HIGH energy level. Good thing you found living foods! Best raw wishes to you. :) Very true! I want to play more, and I have been lately! I'd much rather be doing that playing outside- hurry up spring/summer! I was so lazy last summer because I was tired all the time and had just noooo energy. I would mostly go out in the chair and sit the entier time the kids would play. Even when my 4 yr. old son would ask me to throw a ball for him to hit w/ the baseball bat I'd sit in the chair to throw it! things are changing baby and I'm not sitting in that stupd chair any more! (well you know - til I'm super bombed or need some shade or something) I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired and it feels so good to be doing this health thing for me, the ch ildren and everyone else who are a part of my life. I was totally in denial about how much I was affecting everyone around me with my mood swings, lack of love for life, self-hatred etc. Oh it feels so great to be on the path to the me I was created to be!

there I go again.. hehe

aw thanks! that makes for 23 lbs total since dec 11th! That is something else I forgot to add here is my starting and current weight. I think I'll add it to my sig line along with my goal weight. Gosh- wonder how long it'll take me. I am giving myself a long time *(year and a half total)* to shed 100 lbs. Or release as it seems to be called on live food blogs and boards. I am busy! Probably not as busy as I could be but still busy. I could be doing more laundry or mopping the kitchen floor but ugh- whyyyyy? lol the 2 oldest are in school this year but I plan to homeschool next year. I don't think I"ll be more busy though, just busy in a different way. It's hectic having them in the system- making sure they aren't eating junk away from home (which is hard and they do- for some reason their school uses snacks and treats as rewards  ) and getting up early and rushing around- making sure their shoes are in one place and their teeth are brushed on time. LOL we do brush regularly of course, but sometimes we are heading out the door and I'm going "oops- go back and brush teeth!" it's a pain!

k I'll stop blabbing now and go join some discussions. It's been fun getting to "know" you ladies... (ladies right?)
