Hey,

I'm trying to get back on the raw food wagon, after failing off on vacation over the holidays. I am finding it hard to stick to 100% raw food again. Even though I know the benefits and how good I felt while 100% raw.
I was wondering what are some stable foods you eat, something easy for me to prepare that I could make daily. I have no problem preparing the same type foods over again, and at least this would help me get back into everything again. I've prepared some of my old faves but its just not the same. I am on a waiting list at a local raw food health store for Alissa's book and am hoping to take her level 1 cooking course there as well in Feb. Anyway I dont need recipes maybe just some ideas and I can go from there. Also tips that helped you go back raw after failing off would be helpful too! Thanks a million!!!

You will find that many of Alissa's recipes make large enough quantities to last for more than one day, which is good. Actually preparing and eating the same thing day after day is another. Not recommended for nutrition or transition. YOU NEED VARIETY!!!

While you are waiting for the book, how about keeping it simple, but interesting. As many fruits as you want throughout the morning. A salad or smoothie for lunch. Half an avocado sprinkled with sea salt and fresh pepper for a snack (or a meal). Another salad or smoothie for dinner. Vary the greens and try adding different types of chopped veggies, nuts, and seeds to your salads. Dress the salads up with lemon juice, a sprinkle of olive oil, sea salt, and pepper. Or search in the recipe forum for salad dressings. Some dried figs or dates for dessert.

Are you reading or posting on the 30 day challenge thread? (Sorry, I haven't looked at it lately.) You might find some ideas on there of what others are eating on a daily basis. :)

hi, i find that looking at the posts with pics of raw foods can help me get my enthusiasm back to raw food again. Take a look at the "time for another photos thread", in the raw food prep section or the thread "Alissa's 30 day plan Extended daily log" that is a stickie in this section.

some of my staples are veggie curry, veggies in a nut sauce, marinated mushrooms, Alissas Chili rellenos, pasta's, avocado...

just take one step at a time, try not to think about falling off but getting back on again, each raw meal is a postive thing.

best wishes

Do not forget green smoothies.
I think that making a pie is very handy and can be as simple as sunflower seeds and dates for the base and bananas and blueberries for the filling. You will get 4 good meals out of that.

A very easy and quick meal is pasta and marinara sauce. You don't need any fancy gadgets. I used my freecycle blender to make the sauce prior to my Vita Mix and it did a good job. I don't have a spiralizer or anything either, my good ol' Kitchen Aid potato/vegetable peeler did the job! I love this meal, it's quick, easy and SUPER delicious.

Another, staple for me is lettuce wraps with avocado (lots of it, I so love avocado!) with your choice of veggies on top. I love onion, peppers and tomatoes or sometimes I use a spicy salsa on top of the avocado. Fast and yummy.

ETA: And best wishes to you as you get back into the swing of things.

Green Smoothies, Green Smoothies!!! :D They really helped me! I was wavering and flopping around helplessly for months, anywhere from 0% to 100% RAW and unable to really nail myself down and DO IT.

I started drinking GS's daily, and that gradually got me to where SAD was no longer appealing and I was just craving RAW all the time... then I went back to RAW and it's been the easiest transition of the last 3.5 yrs of back and forth. 93 days 100% raw/living as of today, and lovin' every minute. ;)
