I need to buy a water filter since I change my faucet my water filter does not fit any more. I don't want a eye sore type attachment on my new faucet. So I need a alternative. Please give me some input on the best types, the best water product, cost ect.. Thanks

I'm a cheapskate. I use a Brita filtered jug. It takes out the chlorine taste. Would love to be able to have a household system for the shower, too.

I use a 5 stage reverse osmosis water filter with two storage tanks under my kitchen cabinet. I grow a lot of sprouts so I use a lot of water. It works well for me.
Take care, Paul.

We also have a reverse osmosis system. We've been using RO water for almost 30 years... Then I add ConcenTrace mineral drops to the water we drink (as per my MD's suggestion). *Ü*

I agree EZ Rider ~ it's great to get it from plants. But, for our water, adding back some minerals to it makes a huge difference in the taste, it tastes so much better with some drops in it. That's our water at least. We've got pretty bad tasting water in our town. I sure wish we had a natural spring nearby!! *Ü*

I just drop about 5 wheat berries in to the jug of reverse osmosis water and then I place it on a magnetic pad on the window sill.
The wheat is meant to re-mineralise it.
The sunshine is meant to reenergise it
and the magnetic pad is meant to remove the memory of all the chemicals and pharmaceuticals that I have removed but the memory lingers (as in homeopathic theory).
I know that it sounds like a lot of work but it becomes second nature. As I empty a jug on the counter I refill it and place it on the window and move the one from the window to the counter. I think that it is labour saving because the reverse osmosis system is slow and it is better to have the water in the jug than to have to wait to fill a glass every time I want it.

We picked up a 3-stage system from Ebay. Works great for us. I believe it's RO, alkaline and something else... dunno but we don't get all that white stuff in our glass teapot so, not getting it in our circulatory system either methinks.. and the price sure beat the $2000-$4000 people were asking for alkaline water systems.

I never even knew all these systems existed :o Gonna do some research!

I have a brita and a pur system that fits into "the taps"

I think that your water is even more important than your food and deserves just as much research and expenditure.

I have a brita jug for now, and I do just like the ease of it!

Revvell can you expand on what kind of system you have - is it just on your faucet or your whole house? because even after my brita filter there is still a trace of the white - I can see it right now floating in my hot water container. of course this problem means I am also due for a filter change, LOL!

It goes under the kitchen sink and we split the tubing so it goes into our faucet and the fridge. I think it was $189 on eBay and Himself bid it to $169 or so.

I used Brita for quite awhile; then invested in an under-the-counter for like $369. He did a lot of searching and found our current one which we are very happy with.

I actually asked Him if he had boiled some white vinegar in our glass pot and he said "no". I'm not use to being able to see through it.

For the past year I have been using the Nikken PiMag Aqua Pour and have been very pleased with the both the water quality and the taste. I rarely pick up bottled water as I now take my own.
