I just got it yesterday and it's my first juicer ever so I cuold be doing something wrong, but I've watched videos on youtube of the juicer in action so I THINK I'm doing everything correctly. My collard and spinach weren't very fresh so that could be the reason, but it was getting clogged. When I cleaned it I pulled out about a handful and a half of unsqueezed leaves... What gives? Is that normal and I was just under the impression that it was a miracle never-fail juicer.

thanks for any input!

All juicers have issues with greens. It usually works best to roll them up length-wise or in a small ball and/or to juice them with other things, rather than just throw them in there. It's quite difficult to clog that juicer (aka the omega vert) with just greens. Make sure anything you juice is small enough to fit down the chute & don't overstuff it.

aw, thanks :) My hubby kindof spoiled me aroung cmas time when I lost 20 lbs doing raw.. (well I was doing atkins for a week first- eek) He also got me an excalibur 9 tray! I'm not bragging at all- we rarely get big items like this! I feel so special :) It also helps me on the raw journey- feeling so supported and all. He's been really good. He even likes some of the food I make! I hear the omega (vert is it?) tht the other poster has is super good too- isn't it compared to the hurom? I just watched matt and angela stokes monarch do a video and they said "throw out all your other juicers" so I knew it was theo ne I wanted :)

OK you didn't ask for a book- lesson learned- greens can clog, make them more substancial by rolling etc...

Like Dimond posted, I do something similar with greens in my Champion. I'll put in a chunk of something of something juicy like cucumber or apple, followed by the greens, then juicy, etc. It works really well in my machine that way.

Congratulations on the Hurom!! *Ü*

Awww, such a sweetie pie that husband of yours is!! My next purchase will be the 9 tray Excalibur, just got myself a Vita Mix...so I'll be waiting a while on that Hurom. Way to go with losing 20 lbs, you are on a roll!! Great job, keep up the great work and have lots of fun with all your new "toys."

Alrighty- I could just be totally clueless about juicers but I kindof hate this thing, sadly. :( I did pineapple today with the small "screen" like you are supposed to with pulpier foods and it's just very sad how it gets stopped up. I'm 100% sure I'm putting it together right- really there is no wrong way.... the pulp chute opening is so tiny that it gets jammed and backs up the whole system. the reverse button does pretty much nothing to remedy this- I'm aware that it's more for ejecting veggies that are stuck in the chute, but I thought I"d try. *shrug* I'm seriously thinking about sending this $$ thing back and eating the 25.00 in shipping and getting something that works.. If I didn't know any better I'd think it cost under $100.. Oh and don't buy into the "all you do is rinse it out with water" hype.. It's not easy to clean.
I took pics but I figure y'all get a pretty good visual eh? chute clogged, whole machine no longer works. sigh. I did have some really goodpineapple juice for my smoothie though.

If the juicer was that terrible, I wouldn't waste my time using or raving about it. I'm not a big fan of juicers in general, though I love juice. So for something to be considered amazing, it has to do a lot to live up to that. I never had anything get jammed before. Wondering if it's just the Hurom versus the Vert, though they're suppose to be almost identical. As with everything, people find issues. The best thing to do is read up on user experiences to find ways to resolve them. Or you can speak to their customer service. Hope you find solutions soon. :)

I might send it back and get a breville... at least it seems that brand gets great reviews on amazon!

is the pulp hole on the omega screen really tiny? this one is about 1/2" max.

Oh no amytug!! I'm so sorry to hear that it's not performing up to snuff! :( I was so excited about watching your updates and love affair with this juicer. I'm so disappointed..and I'm sure you are. I have heard and seen wonderful reviews regarding the Breville. Dan the Man (Life Regenerator on YT) LOVES his and uses it in almost every video he does. Initially, it was the one I wanted...until I saw the Hurom. *sigh* The Breville Elite isn't masticating (did I spell that correctly?) but lots of people seem to really love it.

Keep us updated on what you decide, if you don't mind. And I will be sending out positive vibes for you!!!

I had a Breville and within a few months I started getting pieces of produce in every single juice. This was after I barely used it enough to warrant that. If I were to go back to a cheap juicer, I likely wouldn't choose that one. I found the cleanup took way too long as well. Guess every juicer has it's downside. Just gotta go with what works best for you.

ETA: If you're going to spend that much money on a juicer (the Elite), you may as well get one of the other juicers that produce healthy juice rather than one where the juice quality is minimal.

pineapple bogs down my Omega too. I put a couple pieces pineapple in then something less mushy to push it through, then some more pineapple etc. I have had to rinse things in between once. Tomatoes and not crisp apples can do the same thing. Still I wouldn't give up my juicer for anything. And I would never go back to a non masticating juicer.

OK ladies- t hank you for talking to me through this. I feel really silly but elated to say that it's working fine. :o I do think the pineapple did a number on it but a quick rinse probably would have fixed that right up. DH woke up and had a look at it (he's a lil smarter than me in some things) and we put about 5 bucks worth of stuff through it and it's workin fine. sigh. LIke I said- I feel really silly about getting my panties in a bunch. well ignore me- hurom working great and I'm a goober. Some way to introduce myself to the boards huh? I think I"ll go introduce myself properly now.

:p No worries! It happens to the best of us, we get excited and overlook some small thing or whatever the case may be. Either way, all is well and I, for one, am stoked to hear it it!!!

Keep the Hurom experiences coming! :D
