It is time for an extended smoothie feast. My goal is to eliminate the heavier raw foods I have been eating, and give myself the opportunity to release another 50 pounds. I dropped 50 lbs around the first 6 months of eating raw and have been stuck there for a year now, gaining back 8 pounds this past 3 months.

I have included a green smoothie in my diet almost every day for over a year. It has not taken me to the level of health I want to be at. The smoothies I am eating on this feast are going to be different. My personal challenge is to make smoothies that follow the information stated in “LIVING ON LIVE FOODS” – Chapter 13 FOOD COMBINING. I will not add water to smoothies, and the smoothies must fit into the EXCELLENT or FAIR areas of the FOOD COMBINING CHART on page 83.

I am scheduling days of eating which will increase in number as the weeks continue. I think this is a holistic or homeopathic approach to healing. It will give me some relief, something to look forward to, and the chance to retrain my appetite to eat the kinds of foods that will allow me to continue releasing weight.

5 days smoothie feast, 1 day eating
5 days smoothie feast, 2 days eating
5 days smoothie feast, 3 days eating
5 days smoothie feast, 4 days eating
5 days smoothie feast, 5 days eating
One week of eating
Start the sequence over again.

I’m staying as close as I can to this schedule. There are some raw potlucks, classes, and special events coming up that I will make adjustments for so I can eat on those days.

The goal for eating days will be to stay within the EXCELLENT and FAIR areas of THE FOOD COMBINING CHART and also follow the information stated in Chapter 14 – THE THREE FOOD GROUPS, with special attention to the paragraph titled “VARY YOUR DIET TO MEET YOUR GOALS”.

Please join in! You don’t have to follow my personal rules or schedule. Do it however you like for as short or long as you like. I value all input. Let’s talk about what we are doing and how it is working for us.

There is strength in numbers and the more support we can give each other the better we can do this.

It looks like you have a good plan. I am also trying to release 50 lbs. Geeting back raw after eating sad for a few months. I will check out chapter 13. I have not read that chapter because I went straight to the recipes. Looking forward to following your sucess.

Leeleelocs, welcome back to raw. Is that a dragonfruit in your avatar?

Thanks for the support. :) It makes me all the more determined to make this a success story. :D

Thanks, Aleesha. I had some dragon fruit, once. Have not seen it since.

Thanks for moving this into the fasting forum, too. I assume that was you. :) I wasn't sure if this qualified as a fast. If you say so, then I know it must be. :)

I've gotten through Day 3. I was doing really well until I fixed dinner for my family. That made me want to eat. I had a big, thick, green smoothie for my dinner. Completely filled me up, yet I'm still having the urge to eat sunflower seeds or brazil nuts. Not sure why those two types of nuts come to mind.

I'm going to bed early to make sure I don't end up in the kitchen, wavering.

I have 30 lbs to release to be at my healthy weight again. I am having SERIOUS food cravings lately for buttery croissants and cheesy, gooey pizza....and... okay. I'll stop there- but I'm about to cave in.
I understand that green smoothies help with cravings, so I'm committing to breakfast and dinner green smoothies.
I did Revvell's Green Smoozie weekend in November which really helped me go through detoxing rapidly. It was very helpful to have others doing it so I could check in several times a day!

Welcome Lara, I'm glad to have company. Between us that is 80 pounds to go. We can knock that off before summer. :)

I understand cravings for fat. If I had not committed to this PUBLICLY, I would have eaten those nuts tonight. Evenings will probably continue to be my trouble zone. Filling up on a big green smoothie around 7:00-8:00pm is what I intend to do every night.

So far, I have posted my smoothies on my blog at the end of each day.

Funny, I just lost my appetite. Thanks for joining in. :D

Lara, what kind of dog do you have? Looks a bit like mine.

Our new dog Bean is *possibly* rat terrier mix with cattle dog. Your doggie looks so sweet!
Yes, let's get these 80 pounds off! Enough already!
Here's my problem tho'...I'm COLD. Alot right now. And green smoothies are cold and just don't sound good (I do have one every day for breakfast for every day of my life). I'm eating bunches of cayenne and red hot chile peppers (in other food, not the smoothie LOL)... not making much of a difference. When I'm cold, I just want warm, oily, salty, greasy COOKED food. This is a challenge..

Bean definitely looks like some type of terrier. I'm sure he loves to go for walks. Mine sure does. She has been resting all day since our walk. It is cold here, too. We keep the thermostat on 60 most of the time. I was thinking about whipping up some frozen bananas in the food processor yesterday, only I realized how difficult it would be to warm up after that. I bundled up well for walking the dog, was hot by the time I finished. Have you tried using ginger to warm up? A few slices of fresh gingerroot in a cup of warm water gets the circulation going. :)

I said I was going to bed early. Oh well, I should have known better than to say that. :p I'm off now. Looking forward to more smoothies, exercise and weight release tomorrow. :D

Day 4. Not feeling the love for greens in the morning. Breakfast was 3 apples blended into applesauce.

The house is cold and quiet. My daughter is sick and in bed. My husband's job got rained out, he went back to bed. I'm thinking about getting back under the covers, too. Why not? I'm not ready to exercise yet. I am tired, and I won't get hungry if I'm asleep.

First I need to get some kale chips in the dehydrater. Must do now while I'm still full of apples Don't want to be tempted to taste. Also, if I do it now they will be done an hour or so after my green dinner smoothie, which should keep me from eating them while I box them up. Making them for a raw potluck this weekend.

My family will have to fend for themselves today. I'm not in the mood to fix food for them, unless they want smoothies. ;)

Made a pretty purple smoothie for lunch. An orange, 2 kiwis, lots of deep purple curly kale, and frozen blackberries. Didn't taste that good. Improved it with a shake of stevia powder and another orange. Much better. Still it had the slight taste of cabbage. Must have been from the purple kale.

Going strong today, though not as much energy as yesterday.

I'm encouraged by the number on the scale. So far after 3 days of smoothies, 5 pounds released. Probably mostly water weight because I'm not eating salt. Whatever it is, FEELS GREAT!

Day 5 Looking forward to today. Feeling good and strong. Could be because I will start my "1 day of eating" when I go to a raw potluck tonight.

To make sure I don't go crazy eating I will be keeping the best food combinations in mind. All the dishes at the potluck must have an ingredient list next to them. I'll be choosey. I do not want to give back any of the weight I released this week. :)

About an hour before heading out to the potluck I want to have a pint of green juice to fortify my resovle, probably kale, cucumber, and a carrot.

For my first meal today I'm having a green smoothie. Juice of 2 tangelos, blended with an apple, a handful of cranberries, 1 medjool date, a few dried stevia leaves, and half a large head of romaine. AND CINNAMON!

I will enjoy my day of eating, but am looking forward to starting another round of 5 days of smoothies on Monday, the 11th.

I was out of town this weekend, ate some cooked (wasn't prepared)... but am jumping into green smoothies for breakfast and dinner. Lunch will be salads and raw gourmet yummies.
Looking forward to the support and to support you...

Finally, some company! :D Thank you, Lara. :) I was feeling lonely.

After a 24 hour period of eating over the weekend, which included 2 raw potlucks, I am sooooooo ready to be doing smoothie feasting again.

I'm in for 5 more days, starting TODAY. :)

Hi Lara. Hi bumbleberry. I'm happy to see both of you here! :)

To be honest, I had a little trouble yesterday with restarting the 5 day smoothie plan after the potluck. :o I'll probably blog about that later. I'm back on the smoothie feast today without any problems. :D

I had a pummelo for breakfast. The intent was to blend it. I kept taking nibbles while peeling it until there was nothing left to blend. Lunch was a delicious smoothie made with half a head of romaine, mango, banana, blended with apple/lemon juice. I'm having Sarma's Green Shake for dinner.

It feels so good to be back on smoothies and not thinking about other types of uncooking. Looking forward to another beautiful week of super-sized smoothie feasting and releasing more poundage.

My goal is to lose another 30 lbs. When I went raw, I lost 30. I would like to lose 30 more...
