Hi I am 29 years old and a single mom of a beautiful 3 yr old. I need to lose weight and improve my over all health. I am 5ft 5ins 203lbs..... I now thats bad but I must say that over the last year I have lost 40 lbs so it was alot worst. My question is that i have hypoparathyroidism and factor five. HPTH basicly is a condiction that cause my body to not hold the calcium i bring in which in return causes me to go into tetney( horrible muscle spasms all over my body) I am on 3000mg of calcium and meds to help me hold it in my body and factor five cause my blood to clot to fast. so i would need help find the right foods to supply calcium for my body plus i need ideas on high fiber foods. If someone could give me some ideas that would be great i have no idea how to make this change. how much weight do people lose in the first month on average. thanks everyone christy:)

*hugs* Welcome to RFT! I'm very excited about your decision to take charge of your health not just for your immediate sake, but for your daughter's as well. Being a single mom myself, or a parent in general really, we lead far more by example than our words.
To help with the calcium, it sounds like green smoothies (YUMMM!) are right up your alley!! Leafy greens, especially Kale are great sources of calcium. Also broccoli (and it's also high in fiber, as noted already) and I believe I read somewhere that sesame seeds are as well.
I wish you all the best!! :)

You have come to the right place, Christy. :) If I remember correctly I lost about 20 pounds the first month, I started at 223lbs. I hope you find the answers that work for you. I'm sure raw is the best medicine for healing anything.
Best raw wishes to you. :)
