Okay... So I did all the test to find out what is really happening in my body and it seems I have a few things going on. I'm hyper-thyroid, I have low cortisol, my liver enzymes are higher then they should be, my immune system is not working, I have a small case of candida, and seem to have a gluten allergy. So no wonder I haven't been feeling well ;)

So I have been high raw for 6 months or so and have been trying to be all raw for the last few weeks. The problem is, I'm not feeling any different. I know that it takes time, but I was wondering if there is anything I should or should not be doing/eating, ect.

I am taking some natural adrenal and liver supports. I also juice and drink barley green. I also exercise about 5 days a week for 30-60 min.

Any insite would be wonderful.
Thank you so much,
Cathy :)

Non-dairy, high quality probiotics. Probably a better green powder too when you use up the other. Seaweed is suppose to be good to get the iodine needed. Short-term, the herb licorice can raise cortisol levels.

The only thing I know something about would be the hyperthyroid. I followed my endo's advice and had my ablated (killed) with RAI (radio-acitve iodine) after a year of trying to lower it with meds. I hated having that done but I didn't know better.

My current holistic MD said that was a shame I'd had that done because he could have balanced it out in 10 weeks.

Moral of my story - if it comes down to an MD telling you to get your thyroid ablated, you may want to find a good holistic MD and see what he can do for you before having that done. Wish I'd had my current doctor before getting my gallbladder removed too.... sigh. Learn from my mistakes! *Ü*

When it comes to gluten allergy it can take an adult up to 1-2 years for the intestine to recover. So be patient :) Yes a good probiotic will do good.

eat cultured veggies for the enzymes and probiotics. They are very easy and cheap to make yourself. You can buy some to get yourself started but then make them for longevity.

I would look into maca, and give it a try if you haven't yet.

Thank you for the replies.. I am already taking some of the things suggested, but a few things I haven't tried yet. I'll try those and just try to keep on keeping on ;)

Its so frustrating when you are trying to get better and yet don't, but I will give it as much time as needed to be healthy again.

Thanks so much,
Cathy :)

Hi jet,

I have been slowly getting better since January. I am still in the process though. I think for me part of the problem is two remaining mercury fillings in my mouth. My husband and I are trying to figure out when we can afford to get those out. It may be a few months still.

I have also done a few juice fasts. I believe these have really helped my body too.

I do continue to take Barley Max. Its from Hallelujah Acres. It does not contain any kelp. Its just young barley and alfalfa. I do feel it helps too, since I don't seem to eat enough alkalining foods/greens. I try, but its hard with a big family. If I could just spend the day thinking about myself I would be able to do it ;)

Anyway, I think if you can eat a high raw, alkalining diet and maybe do a few juice fasts, you would see your body improving. Like I said, I'm not finished healing, but I am so much better then the beginning of the year!!
