Hi guys

I'm been having some symptoms recently that make me think something's not right..

- Feeling very tired
- Feeling sick in the few hours after I wake up
- Some weight gain
- Hair very brittle and falling out
- Complexion has messed up a bit
- Irregular periods in the last few months
- Not sleeping easily, and when I do sleep I find it hard to wake up and I tend to sleep for long long amounts of time, around 10-11 hours.

Further information: I'm 18 years old, quite sedentary (haven't exercised much lately), female. I've been on iron tablets for 2 months treating iron defiency anaemia.
Took a pregnancy test last week, came back negative so not pregnant.
But does this sound like a hormonal imbalance? Maybe an excess of estrogen? Thanks!!

get moving...look at what you're putting in. if you stay up late, you'll sleep late. review what your doing. poor complexion can be many things including poor diet, stress, insomnia from experience.

I too, used to have a hard time in the morning. I had lots of digestive troubles, and what you are describing sounds familiar and a bit like what I hear weak adrenals can do to a person. I could get up early but not feel awake until after a morning and noon meal were both consumed. Around 1:30ish I would finally feel fully awake and alert with my stomach settled, and only then would I get the energy that felt normal. Some things I started doing around the time it all turned around for me were:
1. Taking maca root-extract and then powder.
2. Having a glass of water upon waking with the juice of a lemon added.
3. Doing some exercise first thing in the a.m.
4. Trying not to eat too close to bedtime

As the mornings improved for me I was able to get to bed at a better hour which even helped more. The maca helps adjust cortisol levels as well as other hormones. The lemon juice alkalizes the body and reduced the nausea and stomach discomfort. Exercise in the a.m. helps regulate cortisol levels throughout the day. Not eating late helps the stomach rest better at night leaving the mornings more comfortable.
Try these things and see what happens after a couple weeks. I hope you feel better.

Have you had your thyroid checked?
