Heck of a headache today! Must be that caffeine withdrawal! Made kale chips yesterday, started flax crackers in the dehydrator. Must get going with these staples that keep me on raw! Plan to make corn avo soup w cilantro today- love that! Making cheez spread, Snowdrop's ranch dressing, then I'll be set! Oh, forgot raw taco meat...

of the year. I think I have a flu or virus. I do know that if -this- was detox that I'd never ever go through this again. I spent three hours shivering in bed, colder than I'd ever felt (and all wrapped up), til I eventually ran a hot-only (yes, no cold, only hot) bath and sat in it.. then went back to bed.
I am sticking with raw, though I am not eating much. I had a banana for breakfast and might drink a smoothie later.
I can't remember the last time I felt this bad. But I doubt it is just detox since so many of my house dwellers are also sick.
I'm not weighing myself to March 1st. I do know that I have lost, yet chalk most of it up to dehydration due to this illness. I did measure myself and will check that again on march 1st as well.

Food - not much!
Few macademias to snack on through the day.
Some of last nights salad for lunch - felt too full to drink my smoothie.
Main meal was Alissas Fettucine Alfredo (is it wrong to say I didn't like this?) which I didn't finish
Snack in a while will be some raw choc
I am slightly worried about how little I can eat on this regime! My calories (I know, shouldn't count em) today are only around 900 - and I'm a pretty big guy. I don't feel short of energy etc so am just going to be careful. Also, I think, overdosed on nuts today - need to have a fruits and greens day tomorrow.
I've certainly never eaten so little as I am the last few days...guess thats why the weight is dropping off!

Kencraw- Just jump right in- like I did!! :p
Hi everyone,
So sorry to hear of those who are ill--hope you feel better soon.
Just to let you know--the caffeine withdrawal can be pretty mean but the headache and sometimes even flu like symptoms (for me anyway) went away in a day or two. The fresh fruit and green smoothies really helped me get over it.
Here's today:
1-Orange
2-banana
3-pear
4-romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, sugar snap peas, 2 dates
5-banana
6-will be green smoothie when I get home: frozen banana, orange, baby spinach, water, ice.
I noticed yesterday I had indigestion after having 1/4 c raw walnuts in the afternoon so I omitted those today and feel fine!

I am struggling for 100% but sticking with it. I feel awful like I have the flu. Everytime I go 100% my sinus drain and get really clogged. I know it is the detoxing but I feel terrible.
B- Smoothie mango, banana, and coconut water.
Lunch Big salad. and Watermelon Radish dipped in almond butter/ agave dip.
Dinner. More radish and almond butter, Mango, and Tangerine.
I hope this gets out of my system soon...

Gecko -- I once read that going below 600 calories is what affects brain tissue. www.pubmed.com would probably have that study. It was relatively recent. However, also read that obese people have something like 8% less brain function than those at a normal weight.
Wow.. lots of us are icky.
Today I had: 3 bananas (smooth, cold, feels good), lots of tea (I'm not giving up tea for raw. I love green, white, red, and herbal teas - it helped me initially lose 30lbs).
I'd like a salad. If I didn't have to chew it! I'm daydreaming mightily about a vitamix. Almost thought about buying Montel Williams thing since he takes payments!
And this appears to be the time that temptations come into being. There are a TON of chips in my house, courtesy of the husband doing shopping. Urgh. It's tempting because some crazy part of me thinks salty chips will make my throat feel better. But, hey, this is day 5 and it's 9pm. I'm not going to mess it up now.
Welcome to those just joining in! I really believe that at the end of this initial 30 days I will probably be at a major milestone for me. I'm excited!

Not doing the challenge right now BUT...I am stopping grains and (cheese:o) and I know that I have headaches because of withdrawal from grains. It happens everytime for about 3 days when I stop grains. You thunk I'd learn:rolleyes:
In high spirits again today, yay :)
VL Green Smoothie
3 x dried mango slithers and 2 x dried pineapple rounds
5 x macadamia nuts
1/2 blender of vege juice/smoothie (I let the bits settle to the bottom and drank the juice) - tomato, celery, shallots, carrot and basil
2 tbls raw chocolate ice cream
Will be a salad for Dinner same as yesterday (which I didn't add to my post due to time zones) - tomato, cucumber, spinach, lettuce, shallots, beetroot, mung beans and mango (so good) and a drizzle of flax oil.
I'm making more flax crackers today as I'm down to my last three  but I love them and they are such a great replacement for b****
I've lost 2.3 kg so far :)

This has been a great day. I still did not get to make any juice - life happened and it's all good - but I have 7 trays of pumpkin sunflower flax seed crackers in the dehydrator.
I am now incorporating an hour on the treadmill and I felt a lot more balanced, no emotional eating.
Today I had
2 bananas
6 crackers with avo
1 pear
1 small scoop of raw cherry chocolate gelato.
Good luck to everyone

Gecko, me too! I didn't care very much for the fettuccini alfredo. At first it tasted okay, but then...bleh. Oh well, no worries. There are so many great recipes to try!

still 100% raw since mid-december...yay! :)
(yesterday and the day before) have been doing a green smoothie or two that has pretty much filled me up all day...greens or celery with whatever fruit.
working great for my blood sugars.
yesterday got out the nuts and was reminded AGAIN that overt fats do NOT work for me- just gives me sustained high blood sugars!
yesterday- 20 oz celery with 9 dates
brazil nuts with agave nectar and herbamare seasoning salt
today...used up the nuts, seeds, cacao, honey, agave nectar, etc in a "turtle"-type mixture based from one of alissa's recipes. these are very yummy and they will not be staying at my house...hello, plates of goodies for friends and family! :)
i will be sticking to the green smoothies and no overt fats.
have a good day.
