How is anyone with bad cramps dealing with them? I have been high raw since early May, about 7 months, at about 95-99% and have had some rough periods during that time. I believe that any female issues I have will be healed in due time by staying the Raw course, but in the meantime, I have had to resort to a little Midol. I can't help it. Any Raw suggestions for cramp easement, although I am not really into hot tea drinking which I know, hypocritical, will take Midol, but not hot tea. It's just where I am right now!:) They are getting better each month, but still painful.

Sex :D
I know, it is the last thing we want to think about right before or during our bleed but it can really help cramps and aches by shifting the blood flow in the pelvis.
Any idea if your uterus is retroverted (angled towards your sacrum instead of your pubic bone)...this can cause some pretty intense cramping.

have you done any liver/colon cleansing, or just eating raw?
if you are raw and still having period issues at 7 months, i would look into that a little more. have you had a gyno exam to rule out cysts or anything like that? some heat on the lower back or abdomen can ease cramping. there are also many herbal tinctures to support cramping if you won't take them as a tea (which can also be made without heat as sun tea is.)
maybe try acupuncture? getting the right chinese herbs can help with periods. of course, acupuncturists don't often believe raw diets are good for you, so watch out for that landmine of a conversation. :)
unless you have every drop of water in your house purified (including shower/bathroom) you are exposed to tap water. unfortunately, much of our tap water is contaminated with drugs and drug residue. this could be a source of exposure to hormones that could be affecting your cycle.

I've read that drinking Coonut Water often helps to get rid of cramps and mood swings when it comes to that time of the month.

My guess is estrogen dominance. Eating a balanced diet should help within three to six months, but since it hasn't helped yet, how about trying some progesterone taken from ovulation day for about 12 days.
Most recently, I've learned about a sublingual P4, that sounds good. It is not taken into your digestive system, but absorbed under your tongue.
Are you doing raw chocolate or any other caffeine? this also curbs your progesterone, as does high stress.
HTH,
Mary Kay
p.s. Your body may be converting your estrogen into a bad type of estrogen----eating lots of cruciferous veggies helps it convert into the better estrogens.

Have you tried phytoestrogens ?
Yes sound wierd but they are found abundantly in flax seeds and soy. They can also be found in other foods aswell like sesameseeds, ginger and rye. Google it ;)
But on the other hand if you eat WAAAAy to much of theis everyday, they can disort you hormonial balance. So no exses. But I have found that eating theis everyday have helped me with pms.
Oh and please dont eat soy raw ;)
