View Full Version : Flaxseed troubles

Hi just wondering if anyone has had the same trouble, every time I eat flaxseed ( linseed) ground or whole I end up with a sore stomach and really bad gas. I love Alissa's pizza but can't have much as it sets me off. I make an apple bread with flaxseed and that's really bad I've had to stop making it. I just don't know what to use now, there are times where I just want something a bit heavier likes breads and pizza's but have no idea what I can replace the flaxseed with. Any ideas?

I don't know for sure but I'm guessing that chia or psyllium can replace flax in most recipes since they also have gelling properties.

I experience terrible gas when I eat flax of any form as well. Sorry, it's such a bummer eh?!
And, unfortunately, in my experience, Physillium, Chia and Hemp are the same way. Maybe you can tollerate one of those and substitute?
