Hello,
I will try to make this as short as possible...
I am recovering from CFS(chronic fatique syndrome) and have been feeling great 2 months raw now.
Last August on top of the CFS I started geting numbness and muscle weakenss and pain. This started when I started doing Kundilini Yoga.
I went to typical doctors to rule out MS and lupus and was also seeing a an awesome natural chiropractor.
My health has been great lately......but.......the muscle apin, weakness and tingling has come back.
I wonder if it could be severe or deep detox symptoms.
Does any one have any thoughts or similar experinces?
Terry

I beeleeeve that all our ailments are held in our body on many levels. And when we detox as we are, on this continual cleansing process, we walk back through the symptoms. It doesnt mean we HAVE these, it simply means they are saying Hi as they go by on their way outta here!

Best of health to you...lv

I may be slow today, Bette can you explain in more detail what you mean, as it makes sense, but I am not getting it all the way.
My intuition tells me all these funky symptoms are detox, yet I just can not make sense of it! They seem to be to strong and hanging on to long...?

I think Bette is talking about Retracing. Not sure though.

I wouldn't normally think that such symptoms were triggered by Kundalini Yoga.
But since you mentioned it as a starting point for the symptoms, or that they were at least occasioned by it, have you tried stopping the Kundalini to see if the symptoms subside?

Kundalini is no lightweight yogic practice, like Hatha, although they are similar in their basic form. Try to narrow it down and see if there is any kind of pattern.

The symptoms came on when I started it(kundalini yoga) and actually shaking the hand shake of a 30 year Kundalini yogi actually brought the symptoms on full boar.... My chiropractor did test (kineselogy) to make sure bad energy was not transmited.
I still do kundulini, but have slowed it down quite a bit.
It is really a mystery to me..that is why i am here hoping for some insight!

Kundalini can be dangerous, according to both critics and proponents.
The cautions surrounding it are not to be taken lightly.

As a former Hindu, I personally do not advocate it..
but if you choose this practice, please proceed with great caution.
If you google "dangers of Kundalini", you will see why this is not an overstatement.

I also have had friends who have had experiences with Yogic power and energy centers. One of them was a disciple of Sri Swami Vivekananda (Integral Yoga Institute) and went to a meeting conducted by Franklin Jones (a.k.a. later as Bubba Free John, and a few other names). She was a good friend, and described to me her experience there. He went around to different people in a circle. When he got to her, she had her eyes closed, and he just looked upon her, but did not touch her. Suddenly, she felt this great heat in one of her energy centers. It was so painful that she screamed. She said that the next day or so, all her appetites ran wild and out of control.
This is a true story.

I don't share this to frighten you, but just to say that this is powerful stuff.
Loosely related to this is Kriya Yoga, as mentioned in the link (below). This was mastered by Yogananda (Self Realization Fellowship) who was my own guru in the early 70s. One friend of mine, while practicing, was approached by spirits in the spirit world who were trying to enter her body. These were referred to by S.R.F. as "tramp souls." I don't believe it.

Dear friend, I don't mean to suggest that these stories typify all Yogic practice and experience. I'm only suggesting caution. Great caution.

Here is an interesting link, not from an opponent or critic of Kundalini, but from a Yoga Teacher and Zen Expert, warning of its inherent dangers.
Please read.. and again, be careful.

Hmmmm, for me, if I shook someones hand and felt like that, I would run as fast and as furious from whatever that was and get no where close to that again. u know IMO

Our bodies hold all of our life experience in there. We cleanse and detox and stuff comesup and out and through. As we clean house, it is going to stir up the dust of times gone by. We might even experience these symptoms again (and yes they may take longer to pack their bags and get outta town) and they feel like the same thing we had in times previous.

They may be yet they are leaving. One last visit, one last goodbye.
I have experienced this with some kind of virus. After going raw, I had touches of a virus that I had expereinced so many times full blown sick. This time was different and i could tell it was just a touch of it and it was leaving my body.

It did and never returned.

It is important to embrace it and send it on its way. Rather than to fight it as if it is the same disease, the same sickness, the same ol stuff. It is a new phase that can be loved for exactly what it is!

Hoooray!

IF this were to last longer and longer, I would go into massive cleansing mode....lots of green juices. This would expedite the process....oh and lots of rest. Be well Terry..Lv.

About the kundilini....I hear you and appreciate the advice.
My encounter with the Yogi was at a studio, he was not a teacher there but was there to speak to the owners about giving classes. That is when I introduced myself to him and had the negative experince.
I would say that perhaps his energy stired something in me. Not good either!
I did decide to NOT take classes from him and also really limited my own Kundilini practice at home. Really all I do now is some breath of fire and a few arm exercises.
The experince left such a bad taste in my mouth I have not even been able to go back to the studio that is really a cool studio!!!

ER---I will check out that site you gave.
LV----Yes I am thinking about the intense cleanse and it makes sense that this is remnants coming up for cleaning. and clearing.

Thanks you!!!

Did you pinch any nerves putting yourself in an odd position?

Just a guess. Maybe see a chiropractior?

I think that could be a very real possibility as well.
I am seeing a Chiropractor, and that did not come up, but he was working on several issues with me.
I am going to bring it up again when I see him next.
