How much water do u put in yr green smoothies?
I'm thinking maybe I need to add more coz they always seem to turn out gluggy & thick... like glue.
I put in about 300ml of water. Is that not enough??
I put in 12-16 ounces. When I'm done blending the smoothie I always give it a taste test before I pour it. If it's too thick, I'll add more water. This is for 1.5-2 quarts of smoothie. Mmmmm-good! *Ü*

Well theres 2 factors here: If you think your smoothie could use more water to be more palatable, dew ih! And if you think you need more hydration, well deh ih!

There really is no rule there. It depends on what produce you put into it, how much and how water rich it is. You'll obviously need more water if you use bananas or avocados compared to cucumber or oranges.
You will learn how much water is right for you. Just find your own preference!

I put in enough fluid (rarely do I use water) to make it drinkable. Use what you need for the consistency you want.

I used to use carrot juice, sometimes apple juice, now I use orange juice and it's just heavenly. The water from white baby coconuts would be delicious but I never have enough self-control to not just suck it down.

1 cup of water (300 ml) is way too little, plus must be a tiny smoothie. I use 3-4 cups. If you use a lot of watery fruits, then you can get away with little of none. Blend those up first if you're adding other things to it.

Mostly orange juice. Occasionally grapefruit juice yet, don't find it as palatable. Nut or seed milk and/or young Thai coconut juice.

I put in about 4-6 ice cubes so the smoothie stays nice and chill. I was worried about the heating up of it during summer - found I could make smushies!
(smoothie/slushies!) so stuck with it - occasionally get a brain freeze off it...
You need to put your juiciest thing on the bottom, followed by the ice, then greens. Then you need to use the plunger to push the ice into the blades as you increase speed. The ice will start to liquify quite a bit in the blades and then it all goes smoothly. Of course, if you didn't have something really juicy a bit of water might not be amiss.

It depends what you put in your smoothies & what consistency you like. I do bananas with greens w/ maybe 1cup of ice & not that much water cause I like it thick, like a malt. That also helps me drink it slower :) That way I won't get bloated & really just take time to taste & enjoy all the yummy nutrients!!!

If you think you need more, put in more. ;) That would be your Body telling you to put in more to listen to Her tastes, after all...
