So I'm trying to stay away from nuts these days as my body has greatly rebelled against them recently and suddenly... And I was missing pesto terribly... I got used to parm-less pesto, but pine nut-less pesto too???

Solution - Hemp Seed pesto!! It tastes even better to me than pine nut pesto!!! So for those going nut-free, give it a try. I'm not one for measuring so into the food processor went: a bunch of basil, a good handful of parsley, several cloves of garlic (normal people will use 1 or 2), about 3-4 TB hemp seeds, a good drizzle of olive oil, and some salt 'n pepa. Mix it up and serve on zoodles with chopped roma tomato and black olives for a happy tummy dinner!

Tonight I was feeling adventurous so I also added some fresh turmeric and ginger... Yummz!

Happy New Yearz!! :p ( I stuck my tongue out so you could smell my garlic breath  )

concerning nuts ive been thinking that now adays all the nuts we eat are probably from heavily fertilized soil , and thusly they all may be a dietary negative

so im looking at more slightly sprouted seed foods as many of them ide imagine arent sprayed with pesticide or heavily fertilized

think im gonna try eliminating nuts / going mostly dark greens and seeds / sprouts . with fruit / vegi

Yeah I'm not entirely sure about the raw-ness factor either, even on the ones that say they're raw. Maybe that's why my body decided to rebel... Hemp seeds seem to really agree with me though. I even made a raw p-hemp-kin pie for t-giving that was so good even non-raw family members asked me to make another for x-mas! I substituted thai coconut meat and hemp seeds for the cashews. Delicious!

Pine nuts are actually seeds, rather than nuts, contrary to their name. It's true that people with pine nut allergies are more likely to be allergic to tree nuts, as well, but the pine nut is very much a seed. I'll be interested to try the hemp seed pesto, in any case.

I didn't know that! Thanks for the info, maybe I don't need to avoid them as much :)
