OMG! Everyone on here has always raved about it and I got so much info and support here without having read the book but WOW- I am blown away. I feel like it is the missing peice in my raw journey. I am sooooooooooo excited about my future rawness and its stability- her recipes are so much more simple than the other books I've got- I am absolutely thrilled. If you're reading this, Alissa- ood Job! My Mom got it for me for Christmas, but it is the perfect book for me to give right back to her as it covers Raw Food in such a comprehensive way and is so big and beautiful, it's hard not to want to sit and look at it for a while. I have tried to get her interested n raw foods, but I think she only thinks of it as a loss of food, not as a gain of so much more, health included. I am so grateful for this book!!:p:):D:cool:

Now, if I could only get my username changed to one spelled correctly...

Hey don't be so hard on yourself the incorrect spelling is charming. Congratz on the book, the vibes is high.

How very cool that your Mom got you the book. Even if she doesn't want raw for herself, it seems she supports your will to do it. Make a few recipes for her. Even it that doesn't change her mind I bet she would still be willing to eat with you.

Don't give your Mom the book....instead.....give her Alissa's DVD. If you love the book, you will really love her DVD also. Not only does she show you how to make lots of raw dishes but she teaches many things while she is talking/demonstrating her recipes.

Another thought.....whenever I want my kids to read something, I under line the book I'm reading and just leave it sitting around the house. (where ever I was last reading it) They just can't help but want to read the underlined parts.

Enjoy your new book......I love mine too and I've had it for years.

OMG- I love the idea of the spiral binding! The thing with my Mom is she lives three hours away so can't really eat the food I make and she is a nurse. She has heard me talking about raw food, but she's not really open to it. I am saying that Alissa's book being at her house might be like planting a seed; I have told everyone I know about it, how it is almost 600 pages with 300 pages of recipes! I am very impressed, to say the least. I just think it would be something she might say, ok, it's here, no one's looking, I'll just read a little bit. I worry about my parents as they get older- my Mom just had a colon polyp scare that turned out to be nothing, but, I don't know, I just think Alissa's book especially shows how anyone can change and maybe my Mom is a perfect candidate for it. I especially like all the testamonials- I think they might appeal to my Mom I have a bunch of raw books, but none have struck me like this one to give to my Mom! :)
