I've been reading mixed literature in regards to juicing fruit groups together and never combining greens with any other fruit but apple. I have some pretty old juicing books and newer ones and I have noticed that the older books do this. I feel that if I get the juice in it is better than not even if it is mixed improperly. There has been heavy debate about this in my house as most are old school. Any thoughts.

I like to mix green juices with cucumber, celery, carrot, apple, and lemon. Sometimes a beet. I mix leafy greens with all sorts of fruits in smoothies, but don't use them in juice. I don't like the foods above that I juice in smoothies either. Not sure why it works out that way. Maybe I'm "old school". :)

greens go with EVERYTHING... that's rule number one.
rule number two... it's only a rule if you make it a rule.
follow your body, if it's asking for celery, apple and cranberry... well then give it to it. ;)

The books may be confusing and combining starchy vegetables with greens. Greens definately combined with everything.
I particularily love kale, cucumber and carrot juice! The cucumber is just so cool and refreshing and emollient like on the digestive tract.
Did you know that you can juice avacodo? Excellent way to get some healthy fat and richness into the juice.
Best of luck!

okay so i'm looking around the net (google is my friend) and i've found this so far:
Happily the fate of the unfortunate canary need not affect the use of avocado juice in the therapy because the best effect is found when the juice is employed as an external application to the skin. Avocado juice is a good way of having a balanced quantity of the oil of avocado. The oil is second only to lanolin in being the most penetrating oil known when applied to the human skin. excerpt from here (http://ezinearticles.com/?The-Benefits-Of-Avocado-Juice&id=117066)
Juicing avocados or bananas produces a puree rather than a juice. (We reccomend blending them instead) excerpt from here (http://www.discountjuicers.com/juicingtips.html)
The "juice" recipes I found were all made in a blender... which makes it a smoothie not a juice.
