Hello, my name is dierochell and the day before yesterday after getting tired of waking up with this ache or this pain or this headache decided that I couldn't take it anymore. So, here I am going raw cold turkey. I tried to eat organic once before but because it was so costly (didn't realise that until I went shopping), I just quit. This time around I just didn't want to eat organic, but raw and live as well, so here I am. I really don't care how much it cost as long as I can learn to eat healthier and get rid of what is ailing my body. I actually got this website out of a book I was reading along with other websites for support. As I write right now I'm having the same symptoms that is pushing me to get healthy. I need all the support I can get.
I look forward to your forums to help me along the way. You never know maybe I can help you guys out as well.

Hi. Welcome.
There are somethings you can do to help. Sprouting is cheap and is a great nutrition boost.

Spicyfull and Sport, thanks so much for replying back. So, I'm on day 2 of going raw and I feel really good (surprisingly). From what I have been reading about sprouting kind of scares me. Can you tell me in the simplest way how to go about doing this?
I've been checking out some of the previous posts (a person's 60 day challenge) and what a inspiration you guys are.
So, what's your stories?

This is a link to info on sprouting but there is a vast amount of info on the web.
It is not something to be afraid of as they are tough and can take a lot of mistreatment.

Welcome here! I just discovered raw and this forum. I have found a wealth of information on this site. I am a registered nurse working in home health, my patient base is mostly geriatric with a few younger people with spinal cord injuries, or MS. I firmly believe that a very large percentage of health related problems are food based. I see it daily in my diabetics and people with heart failure. Then there is the environmental causes such as smoking, alcohol, or environmental toxins. I see that, too.
We are on the right track!

Marine Mom, where in West Texas are you? You should be able to help us out with a whole range of information being that you are a registered nurse. My fiance's mom is currently in a nursing home because she couldn't function on her own anymore and she has MS, do you think the raw diet would help her reverse it?

howdy dierochell, Ive been about 90% raw. I do eat some organic chilli when I feel I need to eat something else. However, Im getting my mind right to go 100% raw very soon. Good Luck,
Jeff

You asked about sprouting earlier.....Alissa's book gives all the information you'll need to sprout. There's a chart that lets you know exactly how long to soak all the different nuts and seeds you'll ever use. You would love her book.......it gives you all the in's and out's of raw and living foods. It answers every question you'll have and then ones you didn't even know you had. Her DVD's are great also.....they also show how she sprouts and she does it with out all the fancy sprouters that most think you need to have. Her Book and DVD combo is what I got when I was first starting out and they're still my foundation. Good Luck and Welcome to the forum.
