...for a bit. :) I wanted to peruse the board a little bit first to sort of get my footing and peek around. I have been trying raw as of a few months ago, but it has been tough going...with me often falling off the wagon a bit here and there. I like eating raw and when I do it properly, I do notice a significant drop in my weight. Now if I can only stick with it. For me, although eating raw is a spiritual experience, my initial desire is to regain my health. High cholesterol, joint aches and pains and yes, even my sugar has been somewhat elevated when I've gone to see the doctor. My mother has diabetes and a lot of health issues, and I really don't want to go down that road. I'm due for some knee surgery next month, the second one I've had on that same knee to repair a meniscus tear.
Yes, it's time to take charge and really take control of my health. So I'm here and eager to go with it. You all seem very supportive and kind, and I think that is important when making a change in one's life..even if that change is for the better.
I would love to get Alissa's book, but noticed that Barnes and Noble does not carry it. Is her store the only place the book can be purchased? The recipes seem so interesting and delicious, but I hope they are simple too. I have three children, a full time job and am pursuing a college education...time is limited. :)
Anyway, glad to be here and I look forward to sharing this journey with you all!
