I used psyllium husks in some dehydrated crackers today because I was running low on flax (and everything is closed!) and they turned out pretty well. I actually couldn't taste the difference.
Can flax be used instead of nuts in most recipes? I'm thinking dehydrated things (e.g. burgers and felafels), as well as pates and desserts - especially cheesecakes and pies.
I'm asking because psyllium is a lot cheaper than nuts and seeds over here.
Thanks!
