Had Kombucha tea for the first time- am I right in assuming that sice it says it is 100% raw, that it is? It was amazing, assuming it was raw. Any info is very helpful- thanks!

is it just green tea ?
I'm by no means knowledgeable about Kombucha - but I've watched YouTube videos lately and raw foodists "in the know" don't recommend bottled (store bought) Kombucha tea.
I don't recall all the reasons, but what I do remember was the amount of sugar and caffeine and how it's processed - that it's not the same as home grown kombucha tea. I also remember them saying that if it actually tastes "good" - then it's not the stuff that's good for you.
I know I'm not stating all the reasons or stating them correctly - but I've seen videos by Paul Nison and John Kohler just to name a few, that warn about the store bought bottled Kombucha. This is not about the homemade Kombucha.
Just tossing it in the ring ~ (for what it's worth) *Ü*

If it says Raw, ala GTs Kombucha, it is unpasteurized and has the living little germ guys 'n enzymes and all the magic intact. However, it is made from green tea + sugar, which isn't raw. One could call it a "living" food. I drink both GTs Kombucha and my own homebrew. I consider it raw myself, as the microbiology fermenting it makes it an all new force, in my opinion, it's no longer the "not raw green tea and sugar" it was before the microbes had their way with it.

I heard its not raw but very beneficial as many teas are. When it comes to teas I don't worry too much about raw. They are, after all, heated beyond the upper limit of enzymes. When it comes to teas I'm less of a fundamentalist than for other issues.

I wish I could find bottled raw kombuchu here. I just have some tea bags with ingredients that for sure aren't raw. What are some brand names to look for? Maybe I can get my local health food coop to get some in.

I dont fuss. I loved KOM when I was in my first raw weeks/months. My body says no now. I have six botts in the fridge.
It is fermented thus living (just try to open to cover quickly and you will seeeee) and it benefitted me for a while.
I have had homeade too with much the same taste and affect.
