I am going in for an exam and cleaning on the 30th and may still be fasting. It might be possible to schedule two slots to have a cavity I know of repaired on the same day. They have done it before for me IIRC. Would this be safe to undergo while fasting? Do I need to advise my dentist of the fast. I'd ask for gas instead but I think insurance costs keeps him from using it in his office (theft of the gas by kids looking for a high).
Thanks for any advice.

I would say that you should be careful.
If you go ahead with the visit then you must tell him as I would be concerned that the anaesthetic will work too fast and you may need less.

Thank you sport. Thinking along the same line here.

I would reschedule. I had a mild stroke from using Ibuprofen for 6 days- on the fifth day I was water fasting. because I hoped my pain would go away faster, but it was still very bad. Don't joke with drugs. Especially while fasting.

Thank you freelive.
I don't want to sound disrespectful here and don't mean it that way but don't you suspect it may have had more to do with the ibuprofin or the combo of it and fasting, rather than just the fasting. Ibuprofin has caused me big trouble too. I am sorry to hear it gave you a TIA or mild stroke. That may have been what it did to me but it was never diagnosed. I will be very careful, and I am not sure I will still be fasting then. That is why I am asking, so I can end the fast a few days ahead if needed. Since I know there is a cavity, I hate to push it off more. I wont push for the filling that day then, but will go ahead with the exam, and break the fast prior to the next scheduled visit....that will work. Thanks again.
